Chapter 184: Booth Day

After that, together with team from City Zhou and City Shang, they all went to to eat at a nearby fast food chain restaurant. It wasn't far, only 2-3 minutes walk. To avoid taking too much time, they all order the same things, some local food called Nasi Lemak with fried chicken and carbonated drink. It was quite delicious, only some of them who can't eat spicy food didn't finish their meal.

Then, they all rush to the booth site. Since City Nan team had finished earlier, they went to help the one from City Zhou and City Shang, they all finished in no time. It's not even 1.30 pm when they are done with their booth.

"Well, compared to the technology development teams booth, our booth really look a bit shabby." Ruby An comment when they are seated in their booth.

"We can't make it any better." Li Jian Yu laugh. Well, their exhibit is really a big boring, there wasn't much other than the raw specimen and then some chemical. Its more to posters, graph pictures and tons of information. Really bland.

Sir Austin didn't say anything, this things really tend to be boring, but he is just happy at the moment, so he didn't mind if they can't get a small award like best booth. Their aim is to get Gold at the first place.

At 2.00 pm, the judges start coming from both ends of the research category team, there are 2 groups of judges consist of 3 people, they will look around the booth and ask questions. When it was booth number 16 turns, Ruby An sneak out to watch how it was done, then she quickly run back yo tell her teammates.

"Nothing much, they look around the booth and posters, then they ask some questions." Ruby An said. This makes Wang Yi Lin relaxed a lot, all information in their booth, she had memorised, so she is confident.

It takes about 10 minutes when it was their booth turn, behind the three judges are 2-3 more people who seems to be VIPs, then there is also a photographer. Bai Yi Yang is also idle today, she is only in charge of taking pictures and welcoming visitors.

"Oh, your booth seems to have your own photographer.." One of the VIP comment when he saw Bai Yi Yang at the side taking pictures with decent looking camera. They all laugh and said a few light comments.

"Student Bai, come over and explain to us a bit, you are quite good with presentation yesterday." Another VIP said. Shockingly, they remember Bai Yi Yang name from yesterday. Her teammates and Sir Austin is not shocked though, yesterday, Bai Yi Yang name was asked a few times by the judges and VIP because she was outstanding.

"Sir, I am just a photographer today." Bai Yi Yang smile but she still come forward, while Wang Yi Lin interact with the 3 judges, he chat with the VIPs with Sir Austin.

"You will make our photographer lose his job. Come, let's take a group photo." The VIPs called the rest of the team as they took group photos. So, the judges are also cut short since the VIP asks for photo, so they can only stop asking questions and join taking pictures.

Wang Yi Lin look worriedly at the judges when they are done. They were still asking questions when the VIPs called them over. What if this affects their mark?

"Don't worry, this session is much less formal. We gave your team 8.5% since it can't be higher than the technology development team." One female judge pat Wang Yi Lin shoulder and smile. Wang Yi Lin immediately beamed into a smile. When the judges leave with the VIPs, they all send them away.

"Another judge team, but it won't be our turn soon." Sir Austin sigh in relief.

"What did the judge say to you?" Ruby An ask Wang Yi Lin.

"She said they gave us an 8.5%, since it can't be higher than technology development team." Wang Yi Lin repeat the judges words.

"That's high for a shabby booth like this." Li Jian Yu heard it and say.

"I bet the Zhou International School will have much higher mark right?" Ruby An said.

"That's a given. They put many effort in their booth, it's only right to do so." Bai Yi Yang said. 8.5% is high for this category.

"I will go around and ask how many they got." Ruby An said and disappear from their booth. Bai Yi Yang only laugh with the rest.

While waiting for the other team of judge, Bai Yi Yang also help welcome the visitors, they have a registration book and they need to hand this over at the end, so anyone who come to their booth need to register. Bai Yi Yang help them register while Li Jian Yu talk, he is more confident now, he is not shy speaking English anymore. Sir Austin already walk around, he fully trust his students to do well.

When Ruby An return, she told them about her finding. The research category booth get almost the same, range of 8% to 9%, the highest is 9% who go all out with their decorations, there are a lot if visitors coming to that place too. As for the technology development category, they all get 15% and above. Their point allotments in booth presentation is initially much bigger.

"Next year, how about having fancy decorations too Yi Yang?" Ruby An said excitedly.

"Wait and see." Bai Yi Yang only smile. Ruby An doesn't understand but Li Jian Yu and Wang Yi Lin does.

Bai Yi Yang is really a bit mysterious, don't know what's going on in her mind. Even after becoming close for about 3 months now, they still can't figure it out. Take the story about his parents for example, they only find out about it recently.

By 3.00 pm or so, the second group of judge finally arrive to their booth. They already expected the judges will be tired walking by now, so Ruby An went to take chairs for them to sit later. Because of that, the judges stay at their booth for almost 10 minutes, making the next booth anxious. The result was that they got a 8.7% from this judge. Quite high.

Everyone finally relaxed a lot after the last round of judging. No matter how the result is, they will accept with open heart. This is what Sir Austin preach to them. Bai Yi Yang also the same, she never open her mouth about their overall results from beginning to end, let them get some surprise for tomorrow result's announcement.

At 4.00 pm, the exhibition finally ended. Bai Yi Yang took the registration book that she is in charge of and went to find the person in charge to hand it over while the rest start tidying up their booth. It's just that, fate is really playing with Bai Yi Yang, she met Dongfang Liu on the way and they made an eye contact which Bai Yi Yang quickly avoided.

"Hey!" Dongfang Liu call her and walk towards her. Bai Yi Yang was going to pretend not seeing him but since he is confronting her like this, how can she pretend anymore.

"Hello, we meet again." Dongfang Liu said with a cunning smile, he have a dimple on one side of his cheek when he smile.

"Yes." Bai Yi Yang smile back and pretend not to be affected. She really doesn't like this teenager, don't say about his messed up social life, she just doesn't like how he look like.

"Let's go together, I also need to send the registration book." Dongfang Liu said. One arm wanted to goes around Bai Yi Yang shoulder which she skilfully avoided like a plague. Dongfang Liu looks dumbfounded when he saw her being like this.

"Just walk.." Bai Yi Yang grinned awkwardly, using the book to put Dongfang Liu outstretched arm down. After that, she walk in quickly in front which Dongfang Liu catch up in no time.

"I heard you are quite excellent, your group have high probability of getting Gold, maybe even getting first place." Dongfang Liu said.

"Thank you for the blessings." Bai Yi Yang only smile but inside she wanted to curse, she really don't want to be associated with this family who rule City Zhou like king.

"You wanted to avoid me? Why? Because of my personal life? Or because of my family?" Dongfang Liu finally ask when Bai Yi Yang cannot be more obvious in avoiding him. Bai Yi Yang froze and face him with a smile.

"I just think that we won't be compatible being friend." Bai Yi Yang said honestly. Too much difference is not a good thing in friendship.

"Really? Then you worry too much, I am much more friendly than you think." Dongfang Liu grinned. Actually, he have been observing Bai Yi Yang, he found her cool, not timid and confident, so after the awkward incident at the first night, he decided to befriend her, something that he rarely do towards someone outside their circle. Who knows that she seems to avoid him instead of fawning over, so today he decided to talk to her when he saw her passed by their booth.

"ID." Dongfang Liu took out his phone and hand it over to Bai Yi Yang. Bai Yi Yang sigh.

"Do you even know my name?" Bai Yi Yang ask, she didn't take his phone.

"I know, Bai Yi Yang, Grade 10, QiYing High School City Nan." Dongfang Liu recite.

"Fine." Bai Yi Yang nod and took out her phone, she let Dongfang Liu scan her code. Whether to accept it or not, it's up to her.

"Accept it." Dongfang Liu smile as he look at Bai Yi Yang.

"Later." Bai Yi Yang put away her phone and continue walking.

Dongfang Liu didn't pester her anymore and chat with her as they walk together. Nothing much, things like what they will do after this and so on, his plan for the day, his flight back to City Zhou. This Dongfang Liu is a bit talkative. Bai Yi Yang will comment once in a while, not too enthusiastic but not too cold either.

When they were parting way, Dongfang Liu reminded her to accept his friend request one more time. He act like he lack friends, which Bai Yi Yang believe that he will forget about her when he return to City Zhou later, she can feel it that he is this type of person. So, Bai Yi Yang totally forget about him too when she reunited with her team.
