IN BETWEEN…
"Sis" Suddenly a sound broke her train of thoughts as she snapped back to her senses. She raised her head to spot a petite figure in front of her. It was Jia. Her face was covered with sorrow.
"Can we talk?" She asked. At her words, Steve walked forward as if wanting to say something when Jessica stopped him. Giving him a nod Jessica walked to a tree nearby as Jia followed behind her.
"Say what you have got to say," Jessica said her voice hoarse and cold. Jia looked up and sighed before she talked.
"Dad's lawyer will announce his will today evening. Come back to the mansion. It is important." Jia said her voice had arrogance. Jessica looked up at the arrogant lady and could not help but feel a bit surprised. The lady in front of her was sure a chameleon in nature. She changes her expressions faster than anyone else.
"I am not interested in any will. And why will dad leave me anything? You are his dear lovely daughter." Jessica said as she gave half a smile to Jia.
'It's not even a day and this girl is already after the property. Like mother like daughter.' Jessica thought to herself, feeling sad somewhere in her heart.
"Huh?! I am sure about that but the lawyer wants everyone to be present as he was ordered by dad. And I was Dad's SWEETHEART, you were just a USELESS TRASH. He will not give you anything." Jia said as she stressed the words 'sweetheart' and 'trash' to hurt Jessica. But to her surprise, Jessica was as calm and composed as ever. She just smiled in return.
Not seeing what she excepted Jia turned around and walked towards her car. 'Jessica you just wait and watch I will snatch everything from you. Your money, fame, new family, and even your husband. Just wait and watch how I make you suffer.'
Jessica stared at the retreating figure of Jia and knew well what she was thinking. In the past few years, she had spent with Jia she was sure that this so-called sister just wants to snatch away all the things that belong to her. Only seeing that she was destroyed would ease the tension, Jia. With an evil smirk, Jessica walked to Steve and sat in the car.
Jessica told Steve about the will and her talk with Jia.
"Will you go then?" Steve asked with curiosity.
"Of course, I have to go. After all my sister invited me with such care and love. I need to pay her a visit."
"Okay then. I will be with you." Steve said as he smiled at Jessica. In return, she gave him a sweet smile and started playing on her phone, unaware that she had just attempted to murder the person next to her.

In the evening, Han Mansion
All the main family members were gathered in the main hall. Jia had changed into a pair of jeans and pink colored crop-top. She looked much younger than her age. She sat on the sofa and drank her tea as if she was already the owner of the house.
In front of her sat a middle-aged man. He was the lawyer of Mr. Han and was here to announce his will. He was old but had good sight, he could judge people by seeing them once and he was sure the lady in front of him was not capable of anything. She had not even asked him for a glass of water from the time he walked in. She had not even greeted him. But he was sure the will would be a face slap for this lady. He waited patiently as he stared at the door.
At that time Jessica and Steve entered the room. They looked well-matched and no other word except, 'match made in heaven' could match to describe them. They walked into the room an indifferent aura surrounding them.
This scene made the almighty lawyer drop his jaw and stare at the heavenly couple. By just looking he could say that the lady was the daughter of Mr. Han and his late wife. While mister's lawyer was amazed by the couple Jia was burning in jealousy she had a strong urge to go and split up the pair.
The couple walked to the sofa near the lawyer and greeted him together. He stood up and shook hands with Steve. He was well known as an influential businessman. He simply nodded towards Jessica before sitting back on his seat and taking out his files.
"I hope all are present now. So, firstly let me introduce myself. I am William, mister Han's lawyer. It was sad to hear about his death. According to his will, I will tell the shares you all have got."
While he was saying this Jia got up from her place and sat next to Steve. She tried to get close to him. Steve frowned at her actions. He was sure what Jia wanted to do. Glancing at the girl who was inching close to him with every second he tucked at the sleeve of Jessica.
Sensing that something was wrong Jessica turned to Steve who was giving her the look of a pleading puppy. She had been observing Jia's movements from the time she walked to the. When she was trying to get too touchy with Steve. Jessica's hands became a fist. She was eyeing Jia as if she would kill her anytime.
Ignoring Jessica, Jia moved more close to Steve as she said in an over-sweet tone, "brother-in-law….." This made him even more disgusted. He so wanted to kick this dirty creature away from him. He had only stopped himself because of the people present there. His face got extremely cold but this did not stop Jia to come closer.
Suddenly, Jessica got up from her seat and went to the other side of Steve. Her new position was between Jia and Steve. She gave Jia a dangerous stare which made Jia instantly move back.
Steve looked smilingly at Jessica. He was happy to see her caring towards him getting close to other women. He felt extremely happy at this thought and a rare smile clung onto his lips.
"Oh… I smell something being burned here. can you smell something odd too, sweetheart?" Steve asked as he looked at Jessica who was now sitting very close to him.
Jessica looked at him and closed in putting her hand on his shoulder. Her eyes narrowed as she said, "dear husband, do you know that a burning object to make others burn too? So it's better to stay away from it." Her lips turned into an evil smirk as she stared into the ocean blue eyes of the man in front.
