Inheritance : The Progenitor of DxD

Living my life as a normal teenager was more troublesome than I could have ever thought .Not only did something terrible happened to me one year ago, but after that incident I had to live in a town that was filled with the smell of fallen angel, devils and church slaves. And above all of those things, I had to keep a low profile so that I could keep my life intact and my bloody diet. * I don't own High School DxD or Strike the Blood Same thing with the cover. The only thing that I own are my OC and the changes that I would make. * Also this is a fan fiction aka an AU world so for the love of the God, don't start yelling that in the original that didn't happened or that it went completely different : I know and I don't care. Chapter 11- Selfishness is in my blood

As my aunt was healing the white-haired girl, many questions begin to pop up in my head. For example, is my aunt using magic to heal the girl? Is she similar to Yukina? Or maybe she's part of another faction. Even though these thoughts are making me wonder what the truth is, one thing I know for sure is that my aunt will explain what's happening when she deemed that it's necessary for me to know.

Meanwhile, the gothic-dressed girl checked Yukina for any injuries that I could have provoked on her before waking up from whatever state I was in.

When she saw me looking at her, the girl turned her head towards me before she released a tired sigh.

"Kojou-kun, you are one lucky guy. That shaman girl is fine and thankfully, you didn't harm her. As for the little devil…she will be fine after resting for a night or two. Chisato will make sure of that and as for you, you should thank us, since we will be the ones to clean the whole scene so that you won't have to deal with a bunch of boring and stressful diplomatic stuff."

"Thank you for that. By the way, can I know who you are and how does my aunt know to do magic?"

"Where do I even start…? I'll let Chisato explain the whole story in detail, for now, you need to know that your aunt is one strong woman, she loves you and I'm her only friend. My name is Natsuki Minamiya. As for my specialty, let's just say that it's related to magic."

The more I learn, the more confused I get and god knows how much stuff does my aunt hides from me. While I kind of understand why she does hide those things from me and that she fears what could happen to me when that world finds out about me, especially when they find out about my progenitor heritage. Even though I'd love to live a normal life once again, I still don't like to be kept in the dark, even more so when my life depends on this information.

I chose to drop the subject seeing as Natsuki wasn't going to delve deeper into her specialty, instead, I simply nodded at her, thanking her for a least giving me an idea of what to prepare myself for what I will learn once my aunt will be ready to tell me the truth.

Meanwhile, Natsuki saw that I was unfocused and deeply lost in my thoughts so she just glared at me for a while before I snapped back to reality and turned to her with a questioned look.

When she saw that I was once again ready to listen to her, Natsuki decided to talk.

"Make yourself useful, Kojou-kun. Pick the shaman and take her to your aunt's apartment. We can't let a young vulnerable girl like her outside, even if she's Griselda's precious daughter. We will bring the devil girl, once her condition is stable enough for a teleportation circle."

"No problem, Natsuki-chan, and thank you."

Before she could think about a new task for me, I quickly picked Yukina, princess style, and dashed as fast as my legs could run from that place. Better safe than sorry.

The first thing that I did when we arrived home was to put Yukina in my bed to rest, while I start cleaning the living room. After all, my aunt and Natsuki-chan left quite a lot of garbage to lie around, and knowing how lazy my aunt can be sometimes, I was more than sure that I would have to clean the mess by myself sooner or later, so I thought why wouldn't I do something productive meanwhile?

Just as I finished taking the trash outside and cleaning the whole living room, a bright magic circle manifested itself in the middle of the living room and from it, my aunt, Natsuki-chan, and the white-haired girl walk into the apartment.

When I looked at the devil girl, I was surprised to see her so scared, as if her life was going to end at any moment, and I was more than sure that I know the reason why she was so scared. At least she looks like she was fine or at least outside of any danger. When she turned her head to see who was looking at her, most likely sensing my gaze, a hint of shock flashed in her eyes before she quickly averted her gaze.

Well, it's not why fault that I live here.

"Kojou-kun, please entertain Koneko-chan for a while, I have something to talk about with Natsuki."

"Sure thing, Chisato-nee. Koneko-chan, right? Please follow me."

I led the girl to one of the empty rooms and as soon as we entered the room she turned to look at me.

On one hand, I could understand that she was both scared and curious about everything that happened tonight and I would lie if I wasn't feeling the same, but on the other hand, I remembered something about her race, and that was what normally, a devil such as her was part of a bigger group, so it's better if I reveal as little as possible about me as possible, just in case we may have a hostile relationship in the future.

"Take a seat, I won't bite you."

"Kojou-senpai, what are you?"

"Well, I believe you have an idea about what I am, so I'll just tell you the truth, I'm a vampire."

"What do you and your aunt do in this town?"

"Living our lives, I guess. She's a nurse and grew up in this town, so I don't really understand your question. As for me…she's my only living relative and it's kind of understandable why I'm living with her."

"Why did you save me? You could have just left me there, while you could have just run away, saving yourself from killing that stray devil."

"Koneko-chan, I may look like a lazy guy with somewhat an inclination to perverted things, but I have a good heart, not to mention that I'm not someone that would let a person, especially when that person is a cute girl like you. Besides, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if I would have let you there bleed to death or be eaten by those things. But as you may have seen, I'm not that good at saving people, but the thought counts, I hope."

Koneko blushed when she heard me calling her cute, but what happened next was something that I would have never expected: She punched me straight in my face, calling me a pervert followed by barely audible thank you.

After I recovered from that punch, I could only smile at her and left her alone, after all, I believe she needs some time alone, after what happened tonight.

As I was about to leave the room, I heard Yukina, who woke up a while ago talking with both my aunt and Natsuki. I quickly looked at Koneko, asking her if I could stay in the room for a few minutes to eardrop on their conversation, and surprisingly enough, she walked beside me to eardrop as well.

"Wait! Why didn't you tell him? It would have done more good than bad for him to know what he really is!" Yukina said.

"I didn't want him to suffer more than he already does." My aunt said.

"Are you serious? Not even you could believe such a lie, Chisato. Your nephew was already in danger the moment Avrora made him her successor." Natsuki asked, aghast.

"I know that he can be targeted by some of the extremists from various factions, but what danger are we talking about? Since it's clearly not what I believe or know." Yukina asked.

"Warmongers, especially the old devils and Azazel's loose crows." My aunt spits angrily.

"Those guys? They won't dare to cross you or even me!" Natsuki asked, while I could hear some anger in her voice, it was clearly less than what my aunt was showing.

Chisato nodded, sighing as her mind traveled back to her dear nephew. It made her uneasy that I put myself in danger for every stranger, but that's how I was, a good kid that would help anyone if he can. She had to admit that she was a little selfish - all of her kin, by nature, were and she wasn't going to be the exception. Everyone in the world was selfish in some way.

Her nephew, however, seemed to be a different case. He appeared to live for others as opposed to living for himself, prioritizing their needs first, rather than his own good. He was kind and considerate - while sometimes he was definitely a pervert, he made sure that they were never uncomfortable. Every time he teased her, he would apologize afterward if he felt that what he said or did make her uncomfortable or disgusted in some way or another, even though she didn't ever show him that she disliked that part of him.

"Say, Chisato-san, would you tell Akatsuki-senpai the truth about his heritage?"

"Yes, I would break the restriction on him, as soon as he needs it, until then, he can live a somewhat normal life…"
