*2 Days Later*
It'd been quiet since the whole explosive group chat conversation, and since then Emma had planned the oh-so fantastic double date her, Todd, Maddy and David were planning to go on. At first, Maddy thought David wouldn't day yes, but once he did, she felt a rush go through her whole body. Odd, huh?
The foursome settled on going out to dinner at Dan Tana's which was only a fifteen minute drive from the girls' apartment. Both Emma and Maddy had been making jokes about the conversation their psycho friend group had a couple days prior, but Emma was taking it more serious than Maddy.
"Wow, so you REALLY wanna get some action with this kid, huh?" Maddy laughed before adding, "You love him don't you?"
"Oh, can it Maddy." Emma says, rolling her eyes.
"Hey, I'm just saying. If you're taking an insane convo THIS seriously, then maaaayyybeeee, just maybe....you're in love." Maddy grinned.
Emma looked away and took a second to think, in silence. When she looked back at Maddy, a smile grew on her face.
"Yeah....I think I love him." She giggled.
"I FUCKING KNEW IT! YOU TRYNA KEEP IT A SECRET!" Maddy shouted, jumping up and down on the couch, "You tried to direct ALLLLL the attention to me and David, but guess who admitted it first....YOU!" Maddy said, pointing at Emma.
The two girls bursted out in laughter at each other's crazy antics. Once the two had gained their composure, Emma looked over at Maddy.
"And you?" She asked.
Maddy turned her head towards Emma.
"And me what?" She questioned.
"Are youuuu...in loooovee...with monsieeeuuur....Dobrik?"
Maddy pursed her lips and nodded.
"HA! GOTCHA BITCH!" Emma laughed maniacally.
Emma turned to see her best friend looking out the window without saying anything.
"I am. But I'm scared because of it." Maddy solemnly said.
When she turned her head back in Emma's direction, she had a blank look on her face. No, it was a mixture of different emotions. Emma saw sadness, worry, and concern in her friends face.
"Wait, why?"
Maddy looked at Emma with a "you-know-why" look. Emma still didn't get the message.
"C'mon Ems. I don't like love, love doesn't like me. Plus, it's suspicious," Maddy started.
"Wha-? What's suspicious about this?" Emma asked in complete bafflement.
"Just the way that he's so nice and funny, it's too...perfect. I don't get it."
Emma looked at her friend who had her arms crossed and looked like she was trying to dissect the whole situation.
"Madds listen, I know you've had your fair share of...bad relationships," Emma began, "but who knows, well I think we ALL know. This kid is totally different from everyone you've ever been involved with before. I see the way he looks at you, and the way you look at him, it's special, and you think it's suspicious because, I'm only saying this because I love you and it's true, the only type of "love" you've gotten from someone else in the past was rotten and fake."
With every word Emma said, Maddy's eyes softened and she felt a tug at her heart.
"And, dare I say, he might be the one for you." Emma said with a warm smile.
"The one?" Maddy asked with a surprised look.
"Hey, I'm just putting it out there into the universe. The universe will do what it wants with it." Emma jokes.
The roommates smiled at each other and came in for a hug.
"Thank you." Maddy whispered into Emma's ear.
"For what?"
"For opening my eyes."
