For the next few days, Xavier continued to 'have fun' with the rest of the forwards and Alexis. They continued practicing so many routine counterattack drills. In a matter of days, the forwards could feel like their finishing abilities had improved. Alexis, on the other hand, felt like he had become a slightly better passer.
As Xavier had mentioned to him, his role was to be a distributor, an orchestrator, by picking out any forward he could spot making a run and ensuring that the ball got to their feet.
Before their special training, Alexis fancied himself as a very good passer. In the grand scheme of things, however, he could be said to be above average. His passes were accurate, but sometimes they were either too strong or too weak. Of course, the players he was playing with weren't good enough to notice those subtle details. If they couldn't get the ball when it was passed to them, they just assumed that it was their fault.
