Chapter 225: What a Shame

With that, Harvey transformed into a figure clad in a dark cloak right in front of Sonia. The atmosphere around him shifted from solemn and divine to chilling and eerie.

However, rather than focus on this change, Sonia tilted her head, trying to catch a glimpse of Kassadin's true form beneath the hood. All she could see was an endless darkness, obscuring his features and leaving her slightly exasperated.

Unfazed by Sonia's scrutiny, Harvey registered a new account under the name "Kha'Zix" on the bounty hunter information site, Light and Shadow. There, he discovered that his name, "The God of Void," topped the bounty hunter leaderboard.

Curious, he clicked on his profile and read the description:

"If you ask who the peak bounty hunter is, the Void will render all else meaningless. The God of Void is a legendary figure in the bounty world, a powerhouse that dominates the galaxy and is a bane to calamity creatures. His strength is unfathomable, and he is the founder of the Void God Sect. Currently residing on the island of the Void, near the Fallen Star Harbor, he has entered a state of seclusion. Though he has withdrawn, the members of the Void God Sect continue to thrive."

Scrolling down, he noted that the Void God Sect had a squad with a total of 387 members. At the top of the list was his name, complete with the title of leader.

As he looked further, he noticed that several key members, including Reno, Kyle, the Seer, and Leicy, had all achieved the rank of Level 3 bounty hunters. Together, they had completed over 127 Level 3 bounty missions, showcasing their strong teamwork and efficiency.

"When did Reno and the others become Level 3 bounty hunters?" Harvey inquired, glancing at the list.

"I believe it was about eight months ago," Sonia replied. "Reno hosted a grand celebration for a week, inviting nearly everyone on the island. That feast cost him over three hundred million, and he's been a lot more humble since then. Kyle and the others also became Level 3 hunters later, but their celebrations were only three days long and around one hundred million in cost. They didn't want to spend too extravagantly."

Harvey could imagine how painful it must have been for Reno to part with that amount of money, enough to purchase a decent-sized starship.

The four of them were indeed talented; three of them were super-powered, and Leicy, after receiving the gifts of the Void, had made rapid advancements in strength, leading them all to Level 3 status.

When Tony brought them in for what was essentially an unfair battle, if they had participated in an even conflict, it would have undoubtedly resulted in a one-sided victory.

Harvey reviewed the members in the Void God Sect and noticed that while many hailed from various planets across the universe, there was a distinct absence of anyone from Mogri. This piqued his curiosity about what those folks were up to after receiving their blessings.

Considering Mogri's environment, their average physical abilities exceeded those of the modified humans from Xandar, giving them a higher starting point.

After checking Mogri's recent news, he found no signs of chaos and chose to move on.

Next, Harvey opened the bounty hunter site to view the available missions.

He noted that, over the past two years, while disaster-type missions were still present, they had all been claimed by members of the Void God Sect, predominantly by Leicy.

She had realized the potential for rapid evolution that came from taking on such tasks, and after experiencing that first-hand, she began to accept every disaster-related mission available.

As for other types of bounties, they had become exceedingly scarce. Harvey had intended to pick up a few jobs to get out and about, but it appeared that wasn't going to be easy.

He found himself puzzled as to why so many members seemed to lounge around Void Island without taking on missions, enjoying their time as if nothing were amiss. It was simply due to the lack of appealing tasks.

Looking at the remaining Level 3 bodyguard missions, he noted the rewards ranged from hundreds of thousands to a million a day. While that wasn't a low sum, the requirement to guard someone for days or even half a month didn't seem worthwhile.

He would have considered it if the reward was ten million a day but for just a hundred thousand? Not a chance.

Sighing in disdain after perusing the tasks, Harvey reverted to his Kassadin form and lay back down.

Sonia, observing Kassadin's behavior, initially thought he was gearing up to head out on a mission, only to be surprised when he transformed back.

"Kassadin, what's wrong?" she asked, puzzled as he sprawled out like usual.

"I'm not going out. I intended to earn a little extra, but I found out the high-paying jobs are all gone," he said, somewhat irritated. "All that's left are bodyguard missions, and I don't do that kind of work."

"What a shame," Sonia remarked. "But with the bounty world essentially dominated by the members of the Void God Sect, it's not easy to find rewarding and enjoyable high-paying tasks."

"Even if you're not heading out, their actions will still enhance your reputation. So, you shouldn't feel too down about it."

Hearing Sonia's comforting words, Harvey understood that her disappointment wasn't directed at him. It was nice to stay on the island, enjoying the luxuries she provided. The only downside was not being able to mingle with others.

For a moment, he found himself agreeing with the sentiment of simply enjoying life, even if it meant being a bit lazy.
