Aubrey's POV
"It is way too hot." My mother panted, standing outside the airport. "Where's your Prince Charming?" I questioned her, looking at the time on my cell phone. Our plane landed almost an hour ago and her fiancé was nowhere in sight. We were standing outside boiling to death and we had just about a dozen bags with us.
"I texted him. He should be here soon." My mother replied. A few seconds later, two champagne colored escalades pulled in front of us. Two Asian men got out of the one in the back and stood in front of us. "Are you Mrs. Towers?" One of them men asked my mother, who nodded anxiously. "We will take your bags. Please get in the car. Mr. Hank has asked that I take to straight to him." He smiled.
Hanks house was huge. The front of the house was surrounded by a golden gate while the exterior of the house itself was a thick grey color. The shutters were white and the front door was navy. A few cars sat in the front yard along with a basketball hoop.
The car came to a stop and the driver killed the engine. A tall, muscular, dark man ran out of the front door to the car. My mother quickly opened the door and leaped into the mans arms. "It's been too long." He said, immediately planting kisses onto my mothers lips. Ew.
It took about five minutes before the man noticed me, and put my mother down. "Excuse my behavior. You must be Aubrey. I've heard so much about you." He smiled, pulling me in for a hug. He hugged me for what seemed like forever, like an old uncle at a family reunion who hadn't seen his niece in years. It was nice.
"So my daughter is just left for school. I'll show you to your new bed room and then your mother and I will drop you off there?" He nodded towards my mother as if to say "sound good?" Of course she smiled and nodded back. "I have to start school today?" I huffed, crossing my arms. "Yes. It's a Friday, you'll only be there for six hours. Why not? I can show you guys around California this weekend." He stated.
Hank did really well for himself. His house resembled the size of the playboy mansion. Minus the pictures of nude women all over the home.
My new room was so much bigger. It was painted coral with a large white closet. My bed frame was white along with the dresser and storage bench that sat at the end of the bed. I was really digging it.
"There's a bathroom just at the door to the left of the room. We will be back in about an hour to take you to school." Hank smiled, grabbing my mothers hand and closing the door behind them.
After taking a quick shower and putting my hair up into a messy bun, I settled on tight light blue true religion ripped skinny jeans, a white v-neck, and all white Air Force ones. I slipped diamond studs in my ear, slid on a silver watch, and grabbed my light blue Michael Kors tote bag. By the time I got downstairs, Hank and my mother were waiting by the door.
The High School was a mall compared to the small all girls catholic school I went to. Muscle heads and Barbies lined the halls. My mother got me situated in the office and as soon as we were done, she fled the scene.
See, this is what I hated; being left alone to fend for myself. The bell had rang and I was left standing clueless all by myself. I examined the map of the school, trying to find my homeroom, which was chemistry. Apparently, it was on the third floor at the end of the hall. Great.
I slowly creaked the door open and found myself eye to eye with a classroom with damn near a million students. I had never been in a class this big. The biggest I'd ever been in was only about twelve students and this one had at least forty.
"You must be Aubrey Towers. The main office just called me about you." The old man smiled, offering his hand for me to shake it. "We're just reviewing for a quiz on Monday. Take a seat in the front for now and you can get caught up." He directed me to a front seat by the window, which I was very much happy with, considering how hot it was and the air wasn't on.
For the rest of the class, I could feel eyes all on me. Had they never seen a girl before? I guess not.
During lunch, I chose to sit outside under a tree and sip on a flavored water as I texted my friends. Unfortunately, a group of boys decided to disturb me. "What's your story?" One of them asked. "I'm sorry, I don't think I got your name." I responded. "Oh my bad. I'm Jay. And you are?" He asked me, but one of his friends answered for him. "Gorgeous." I looked to the right and to my surprise, it was a girl. She was actually really good looking. A medium caramel color with long black hair. She was a tomboy though, I could tell by her sagging jeans and loose fitting shirt. This girl wasn't like a normal one.
"I'm Aubrey." I replied, laughing at the girls corny pick up line. "Excuse my best friend here. Alex isn't used to me stealing what she's trying to get." Jay said, causing Alex is burst into laughter. "Boy, I taught you everything you know." She responded. "Anyways." Jay chuckled, rolling his eyes. "What's your number?" Alex questioned, playfully. "It's straight." I said, smiling up at her. I was not lesbian, let alone bisexual.
"Dagger." Alex fake cried. "Yeah." I giggled, going back to my cell phone. "I'll be seeing you around, gorgeous. She winked, walking away.
