Chapter 42 The finger

Dante, remembering the main reason he went with this girl, asked for a favor. "Do you have a computer or something similar?" His main priority right now is to learn about the world he traveled, which would be perfect for him. Checking the internet will save him a lot of time and future headaches.

"Of course, where else would I work?" Sora pointed her finger towards the room on the left. "You'll find it in there."

Entering the room, Dante saw the computer near the bed. It wasn't adorned with fancy cosmetics nor had LED lights, but just by looking at it, you knew it cost a hefty price. Turning the PC on, it asked for a password to start. Dante told Sora, "I'll be checking some stuff on the internet, also PASSWORD!!!"

Sora nonchalantly replied while looking at some videos on her phone, "YouCanChangeThe PasswordLater."

I stared at her with dead eyes from the "PASSWORD." she told me. I couldn't help but comment with some sarcasm, "At least your password isn't password... Right?" She gave me an awkward expression before deciding to mind her business on the phone.

Starting the PC, I saw a few applications in the taskbar, yet what quickly caught my attention was the year, "2017... huh." Dante kept inputting all kinds of questions and watching the most recent news or anything related to supernatural events, "There isn't anything about powers nor nothing similar." this disappointed Dante a little.

'What we saw earlier was a strange occurrence? I don't see anyone having unga bunga strength. The peak human in sports is quite weak, and by her reaction, magic doesn't exist. Maybe the world is peaceful, and that was an isolated event...'

After searching for an extensive hour, he learned everything relevant he should know. As for the invisible thing, the strangest thing he found is that people disappear without a trace from time to time, but these events are barely given enough attention, almost as if they were intentionally kept hidden..."

Suddenly, Dante realized a potential source of information. 'How can I be so stupid? I have a victim behind me!' "Hey, since when did all this stuff start happening?"

Sora responded, "Hours ago, why did you ask?"

Dant wasn't the best detective, so he asked what he expected to be more useful or plausible: "Did you do something or see something strange before all of this stuff?"

I mean, no..." Sora closed her eyes, hoping to remember something. She snapped her fingers and spoke, "Oh! there is something." Sora rushed to the living room, taking a weird box with her. "I found this weird finger inside this box. I was going to hand it over to the police, but I couldn't because everything started to go from bad to worse since I found this thing,"

Dante didn't know much about the object, but after feeling a threatening aura emanating from it, he recommended to her, "Put it back in the box. Why did you even open?"

Sora responded truthfully, without feeling the creepy aura, "I wanted to know what was inside." in her mind, she thought, "And perhaps if something valuable was there, I would have probably grabbed it."

Only common items can be saved. You need a special item to bring items from other worlds; items that carry the meta-physical events from that world can't be stored most of the time. Unless you use special items to bring them with you.

At least you explained what the finger was...

With the finger thing finished, Dante inspected the box in hopes of discovering something valuable.

After learning the item description, he discovered 2 things: the name Sukuna sounds awfully familiar. He wondered if he had heard it somewhere before and if magic existed, but it was hidden from normal people.

"I'll go to sleep then, yell or scream if another of those things comes here." I took a blanket out of the system and made the couch my bed.

"But why are you going to sleep? Don't you have magic and all of that stuff?

I responded, "Look, I could survive without sleeping for days, but it is entirely unnecessary unless the situation dictates it, so I won't do it. Sleeping is an incredible sensation that no living being should be deprived of.

As he closed his eyes, Dante formulated a plan: "I'll explore the place for more paranormal stuff. It said that the finger could attract those demons." Dante's lips formed a small smile of excitement. "I know what I'm going to do tomorrow."
