Ugly Duckling

   Anna was far from being beautiful, in fact the ugly could refer to her as ugly. The red dots on her face did not help her matter at all and the girl who had called her ugly, started laughing but when Miss Kate glared at her, she stopped.

  Her uniform was too big, covering almost every part of her body which made the rest of the class wonder if she has got some skin defect apart from the one on her face to make her wear such a ridiculous uniform. The big glass she has on did make her matter worse.

"She is the ugly duckling of our class"

A green-eyed dude whispered to himself

  Casey smiled at how embarrassed Anna was looking, she seemed so satisfied that the poor girl was really uncomfortable.

  "Miss Anna, has a medical condition so no matter what you all think of her, don't bully her, I beg you"

  With that being said, She nudged Anna to move so she could go sit down but she stood rooted to the ground.

  Michael sighed and stood up, walking towards Miss Kate and Anna with all eyes on him. Getting to the front of the class, he smiled at Miss Kate and walked out of the class to everyone's surprise.

   Miss Kate was equally shocked at Michael's sudden change in attitude. Although Michael is quite reserved, he had never walked out of class before.

  Anna's case was suddenly forgotten and when she realized that, she slowly walked to the back of the class and sat down at the only dessert seat at the back. 

  The murmuring that followed Michael leaving the class continued until Miss Kate thought it's enough.

  "I think we should get on with the day".

Miss Kate said, looking around.

There was a chorus of agreement and they all settled down to have their first lesson of the day.

 SPRING HIGH ACADEMY..

   Lana could not stop talking and Claire was getting bored already. They were supposed to have had their first period of the day but it looks like nothing of such will be happening anything soon.

   Noah sat with his friends gisting about one girl or another but his mind was not where he is with his friends, rather, it is on Claire. He has been observing Claire since she arrived at school this morning and he felt awkward because Claire has not glanced at him for once and it's not sitting well with him.

  It felt like Claire has gotten over her crush on him and that's the last thing he wants because he likes her too, being a jerk to her was his only way to keep getting her attention without anyone thinking he likes her too.

  Though Claire is rich, he doesn't see himself mingling with her because he also has a thing for the school miss Popular, Crystal and he had been dating her for a while now. But lately, he had been falling hard for Claire Zidat.

  He had said something to spite Claire when she arrived at school but she played deaf ears to it which happened to be the first time she was behaving like that to him.

  Claire smiled to herself. She knew what was really going on. Noah has been restless since morning and it has to do with the way she treated him.

  "Uncle Zain was right, I might not follow his advice of dating another guy but I could ignore him."

She thought, making a full smile appear on her face. Lana stopped what she was rumbling and hit Claire in her lap," Girl, who are you smiling at?"

She questioned curiously.

Claire ignored the question and kept staring ahead

   Claire had never smiled like that before in public for fear of drawing more unwanted attention from boys, especially the popular ones. Her smile was beautiful, her lips were pink and her dimples showed as she smiled happily to herself. She was beautiful, no one else could compare. 

  "Claire, tell me what's making you smile like this?"

Lana asked again, this time impatience was clearly written all over her face and at the same time,her eyes glimmering with excitement as she awaited for an answer. Claire rolled her eyes at her enthusiasm,"Nothing, Lana"

"Oh come on!" Lana whined,"You can't tell me nothing is making you smile"

Lana said nudging her arms.

Claire groaned,"Why must you be so annoying"

"Because you like me like that"

Claire shook her head and sighed, looking away. Her eyes met with Noah's and time froze before Claire could look away, Crystal walked into the class with her parade making everyone to sigh.
