And just like that, the days passed without any new metahuman incidents, and soon Christmas was fast approaching.
Though it seemed like a lot of time had gone by, it had only been three months since Barry woke up from his coma and began his journey as the superhero, The Flash.
During this time, Caitlin's love for Swayam deepened as she witnessed his constant care and support for both her physical and emotional well-being.
One day, while they were out on a date, something unusual happened. After watching a movie, Swayam and Caitlin were heading to the parking lot toward Swayam's bike when Caitlin felt an urgent need to use the restroom. She told Swayam to wait for her by the bike, assuring him she'd be back in a moment.
Swayam agreed, trusting her increased emotional control and thinking nothing could go wrong.
However, on her way back, Caitlin felt a strange gaze on her. When she looked in its direction, she saw a long-haired man retreating. His figure seemed oddly familiar, though she couldn't quite place him. Curious, Caitlin decided to follow the man.
After trailing him for several minutes, she found herself in a dark corner of the parking lot. There, something strange happened—the man turned around, and suddenly his whole body caught fire. His clothes burned away, revealing his face and body. Caitlin was shocked. For a moment, she thought she was hallucinating, dreaming, or that her mind was playing tricks on her. But the intense heat told her otherwise. Realizing it was real, she panicked and ran back to Swayam, seeking comfort in his arms.
Seeing her distress, Swayam became worried and kept reassuring her that everything was alright and that he was there for her.
Once Caitlin had calmed down somewhat, Swayam gently asked what had happened to upset her so much. But instead of answering, she simply asked him to take her home. Understanding that something had deeply shaken her and she wasn't ready to talk about it, Swayam respected her wishes. He told her he'd wait until she was ready to tell him and wouldn't press her for answers. Afterward, he took her back to S.T.A.R. Labs.
Ever since that night, Caitlin had been acting strangely, and everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs noticed. Barry and Cisco, who were used to Caitlin's playful jabs at their antics, felt something was off when she stopped responding to their mischief. They eventually went to Swayam, assuming he might know what was wrong, but when he told them he didn't know either, they could only watch and hope things would improve.
Thankfully, Caitlin didn't keep them in the dark for long. One day, she approached Cisco with a determined look on her face and confided in him. She explained everything about her possible encounter with her ex-boyfriend, Ronnie, and how it had shaken her. She asked for his help in finding Ronnie so she could finally have closure and move on. She also requested that he keep this information between them, especially not to tell Swayam.
During this period, another significant event occurred: a report surfaced about an incident at Mercury Labs that could only have been caused by someone with superspeed.
Joe and Barry conducted an investigation and discovered that the perpetrator was a blur dressed in a yellow suit. Upon learning about the "man in yellow," Barry immediately recalled the files he had on his mother's murder. Barry believed that if he could capture this man, he could finally prove his father's innocence and get him released from prison.
Excited by the possibility, Barry shared his plan with Joe. However, Joe revealed that he was already familiar with the "man in yellow." The speedster had broken into Joe's house, stolen all the files related to Barry's mother's case, and left a picture of Iris pinned to the wall with a knife—a clear threat. The man in yellow warned Joe to stop investigating or Iris would be in danger.
Left with few options and growing concerns, Joe and Barry went to S.T.A.R. Labs to inform the rest of the team about the day's alarming incident.
