As Swayam acquired Farooq's ability and realized that Farooq couldn't steal his powers, he wanted to capture him. However, he hesitated—not because he was incapable, but because he was uncertain whether apprehending Farooq would prevent Barry from regaining his powers. A previously blurry memory from the CW show *The Flash* suddenly became clear to him, further complicating the situation.
Now, Swayam knew how Barry could regain his speed, so he couldn't capture Farooq just yet. But he also couldn't let Farooq continue his rampage. The only solution Swayam could think of was to keep distracting Farooq and wait for Barry to become desperate enough to reacquire his speed.
While Swayam kept Farooq occupied, Cisco, following Harrison Wells' instructions, worked on rebooting the spare generator and redirecting the power to the modified treadmill. Harrison Wells then instructed Caitlin to monitor Barry's vitals closely, as Cisco prepared to send a massive jolt to jumpstart Barry's subatomically primed cells.
After giving the necessary instructions, Harrison Wells went to the area where Swayam was confronting Farooq. Watching Swayam expertly dodge the lightning projectiles, Wells grew suspicious. To pull off such feats, one would need either incredibly fast reaction speeds or a connection to the Speed Force. Since Wells couldn't detect any trace of either positive or negative Speed Force in Swayam, he concluded that Swayam must possess extraordinarily fast reflexes.
Despite his doubts, Wells believed Swayam couldn't keep dodging the lightning forever. So, he headed to the pipeline and struck a deal with Tony Woodward, Barry's childhood bully, offering him freedom in exchange for helping Swayam distract Farooq.
Meanwhile, in the treadmill room, Cisco successfully rebooted the spare generator and transferred the power load to the treadmill. Unlike the TV show episode where Barry was injured after trying to reason with Farooq and failing to dodge a lightning projectile due to his lack of speed, this time, thanks to Swayam's intervention, Barry avoided that mistake. Now, Caitlin's concern was not for an injured Barry, but for Swayam, who was battling a very dangerous metahuman. Anxiously, she urged Cisco and Barry to hurry.
As Cisco and Caitlin prepared to jumpstart Barry's primed cells, Tony, now free, followed the shockwaves and vibrations to the source of the red lightning. When he arrived, he saw two men fighting—one surrounded by red lightning, throwing projectiles at the other, who was clad in a completely dark black superhero suit, expertly dodging the attacks.
Tony quickly realized that his task was to stop the man causing destruction. While the two men were focused on each other, Tony seized the opportunity, sneaking up behind Farooq and delivering a powerful punch, his fist fully encased in steel. "Been dying to punch somebody," Tony exclaimed as he knocked Farooq to the ground.
Despite the punch, Farooq's physique—altered by the particle accelerator explosion—allowed him to withstand the blow. Enraged and still on the floor, he fired multiple lightning projectiles at Tony. Thankfully, Swayam, knowing how much damage these projectiles could cause, tackled Tony out of the way, saving him from a devastating hit.
Though Tony was grateful to be saved, his pride made him resent Swayam's intervention. But when he got to his feet and saw Swayam skillfully dodging the deadly projectiles, and how those projectiles caused massive destruction wherever they landed, Tony held his tongue. When Farooq redirected his attacks at Tony, who was now aware of the damage those projectiles could inflict, he managed to dodge most of them. The few that did hit were neutralized by his metahuman ability, which encased his body in steel.
With the situation now two versus one, and Farooq's attention divided, Swayam found it easier to dodge the red lightning projectiles. Meanwhile, back in the treadmill room, Barry was just electrocuted. Although Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco saw his hands vibrating abnormally—an indication that Barry had regained his powers—he still couldn't access them fully.
As they puzzled over what might have gone wrong, a massive explosion suddenly echoed from the entrance of the lab, where Swayam was confronting Farooq. Worried about Swayam, Caitlin, Cisco, and Barry rushed to the scene.
Harrison Wells, hearing the explosion, also made his way to the site. Just before the blast, Farooq, who had grown increasingly irritated by Swayam and Tony's relentless harassment, let his anger boil over. The red lightning surrounding him intensified, and in a fit of rage, he unleashed a powerful 360° spherical blast, sending both Swayam and Tony flying across the room.
