Third person POV
After some time, Russell and his team, who hadn't bought anything, went back to the old lady's house. It was the golden afternoon, and the time was past 5 o'clock. There Russell remembered that he and his group had free vegetables from Monroe Town and thought that those things would rot if they weren't being used. So, he opened the bus's baggage compartments and grabbed all of the vegetables.
Luckily, despite being stored in those compartments for a few days, those veggies didn't go bad and stayed fresh.
Then, Russell brought all of them into the house and placed them in the kitchen.
He planned to give them away to the old lady in order to lighten his cargo a bit more.
At the same time, Azalea and Kelly had returned from their quick trip to Leafmight an hour ago.
"There we go," Russell said while putting the vegetables on the kitchen countertop and arranging them neatly.
And then, the old lady entered the kitchen, only to be surprised to see vegetables on the countertop. "Huh? What are these?" Russell heard that and turned around. "Oh, hello there, I'm back."
"Welcome back home, young man," the old widowed lady responded while walking towards the countertop.
She then took a good look at those vegetables. "Oh my, where did you get these, young fellow?"
"Oh, um," answered Russell back, "I got these from Monroe Town for free."
"Wow, you and your friends went there?" the old lady looked at him.
Russell then smiled. "Yes, we did, ma'am. It was a nice, farming town."
The old lady got that. "Ah, okay."
She looked at the vegetables. "I'll use these to make supper for tonight."
She then glanced back at Russell. "I'll make vegetable stew tonight."
"Woah, that sounds tasty!" Russell was excited to try that. "I'll wait."
"Okay, dear, I'll call you and your friends when it is done."
With that, Russell left the kitchen, looking forward to trying vegetable stew. Shortly after that, he went to the drawing room in the house, where his party and friends were lounging around and chilling out. There Adrian shared to his party how Russell defended him from his former party and how he had talked so harshly and boldly to them. Azalea and the others were stunned to hear such a brave thing Russell did. John and Cassius confirmed it with their accounts, but Cassius didn't mention about Adrian being an adopted royal family member.
"Wow, Russell was really that brave," Kelly commented.
Rai and Ria were secretly falling for Russell.
"Russell was really that sensitive, wasn't he?" Taryn added.
"Yes, I am," Russell responded, before entering the drawing room, which was filled with fine furniture and some paintings.
"Oh, okay, you are so brave and sensitive," Azalea said to him in admiration.
Russell was taken aback by her admiration of him. "Woah, calm down. I only did the right thing."
"Wow, that one?" Rai asked.
Russell then nodded. "Yes, the right thing is the one I found right, despite possibility of me being backlashed for that."
His group and party were stunned at his difference in terms of moral views.
So, Azalea and Taryn liked how Russell acted like that towards selfish people like the Elai party.
Russell then sat down on a luxurious sofa and began to think about his beliefs, moral views, and behavior, remembering how, back in his previous life, his parents had taught him morals according to their culture, which was of the Philippines. Because of these things, even in this new life, he treasured their moral lessons and teachings in his heart. Those things are consisted of kindness, good sense of justice, defending the weak and disadvantaged, hospitality, love, respect, and toleration.
Later that night, all of them are in the dining room eating dinner with the old lady. The meal is hot vegetable stew with whole wheat bread. It was a simple meal. Russell tasted it and found it was good and tasty, giving a good compliment to the old lady.
"Thank you, dear," the old lady replied softly, before enjoying her meal.
Adrian, Rai, Azalea, and Cassius liked it.
John, meanwhile, had bread and some crushed pig liver for his meal as a Dark Wolf.
The night was quiet and peaceful, away from the busyness of the city's urban jungle.
