Chapter 124 - A Newspaper Firm with an actual modern printer?

Third person POV

Russell and the others were shocked to hear what Rai had just said. "What?!" Russell responded to this. "She did what?!" Kelly and Ria couldn't believe that, and Kelly now wondered about humans' tendency to have sex with other, fellow humans.

Rai then nodded. "Yes, I saw everything. That's the thing I cannot unsee."

Because of that, Russell wants to report this to Prince Nicholas but is hesitant due to fear.

So instead, he and his friends hopped onto his bus and left the area, going back to the city to pick up any passengers for their next route, Fernlay City via Kapeton Town and Monroe Town.

After that route, at 11:35 a.m., the group went towards Rossley via Wallisville. After that route, now back at Rossley, Russell went to find the newspaper the firm that printed the newspaper he bought this morning. Russell used the address the newspaper provided on the front page. After much finding, he and his friends finally found it, which was located in a tenement building. The newspaper firm, known as the Kuehne News and Printing, was a small one with 2 printers used for printing services, including small, client-based ones. The owner, James Kuehne, was working on a project that a client had requested when Russell and his friends came outside of it. His only apprentice, an elf commoner, was busy printing a daily afternoon issue of the newspaper. So, Russell and his friends opened the door and entered the place. This rings a bell above the doorway, prompting James' apprentice to look at them. "Hello there," she said to them. "Welcome to the Kuehne News and Printing. How can I help you?"

"Good noon," Russell responded back, "this place prints newspapers, right?"

He then showed her the newspaper he had bought.

The apprentice then looked at it and nodded. "Yes, that one is a copy of our daily Morning edition."

Putting the paper down, Russell replied back, "Okay then, um…what do you use to print it?"

The apprentice pointed to one of the inkjet printers on a table next to a stack of blank pieces of paper. "This one. My master bought them for his printing services."

Russell and his group were amazed.

"Woah, who is your master?" Ria asked her.

To that, the apprentice led them to James's office.

There she called him, and James, a young man dressed in a regular, two-colored chemise, breeches, and loose pants tied at the waist and knee, stopped his work and looked at her and others. "Yes, what is it?" But then, the young Renad was surprised to see Russell in a bus driver's uniform. "Woah, are you a Renad by any chance?"

"Yes, I am," answered Russell back confidently, "I am a bus driver. I am Russell May, formerly Benjamin Taklaw of the Bicol Region, the Philippines."

His friends then introduced themselves to James and his apprentice excluding the fact that they are dragons as humans to prevent any sudden panic in the small shop.

James was surprised to hear what Russell had said. "What? A Filipino? Wow! I am an Indonesian and a Balinese by ethnicity, too!"

Russell and his friends were surprised to hear that.

"Wow, so we're neighbors back in our previous lives!" Russell replied back with enthusiasm.

(What Russell meant is that their home countries from their previous lives are close to each other geographically.)

"Wah, keren pisan! (Wow, so cool in Balinese, his native language.)" James replied back with enthusiasm.

Russell doesn't understand that, so James explains to him about its translation for him, before briefly explaining to him about his previous life.

According to James, he was an Indonesian who was a newspaper printer in Bali Province's capital Denpasar. His former name is Bagaskoro Situmorang, and he, at the age of 27, died in a bus accident while on a trip to Indonesia's island of Sumatra. So, just 5 months ago, Bagaskoro was reincarnated as James Kuehne, a commoner who has the S-ranked ability known as Printer and had a standard inkjet printer with him upon being reincarnated. And ever since then, James had been working in his own and the world's first modern printing shop, making newspapers and printing out paper documents and such for clients of all kinds. Furthermore, James also had a Secondary ability which is Water magic, which he seldom uses, but also practices it consistently and daily. James is also an adventurer in his free time because he wants to explore the world while giving out his newspapers and catalogs detailing and advertising his strange services.

After that story and backstory by James, Russell and his friends were very amazed to hear all that. In turn, they felt bad for his death in his previous life, and Russell went on to tell his backstory of himself to James.
