Chapter 109 – Russell's Counterattack and Second Rampage

Third person POV

Russell and his friends, alongside the residents of Halestone Town heard the watchmen's calling and were shocked with terrifying horror.

 "We're being attacked!" shouted one of the residents.

 And then, right after that, Batela's sent army poured into town, causing destruction and chaos in its perimeters. Russell and everyone started running for their lives and scattered. Batela's soldiers then started to kill anyone who comes in their way and steal what they had. Some even started killing women, children, and the elderly, before stealing their valuable possessions.

The town guards and some of the soldiers who were stationed in that town tried to fend the invaders off, but it was hard for them to fight them off.

 Amidst the chaos, Russell and his group hid in the town's only hospital, alongside some of the residents. As the people around them were terrified for their lives, Russell remembered something: his bus was outside in town. That reminded him of what had happened in Snowyfield Village. So, driven by good and justice-promoting vengeance, Russell grabbed his scabbard and readjusted his bus driver's cap, Russell said to his friends, "I'll go out and fight them!"

As Russell rushed outside, his group and some of the hiding residents were shocked that he will do something so dangerous and risky.

Even John was very shocked at what his master will do.

But Russell ignored their warnings and pleas, wanting to do something against Batela's soldiers.

So, after arriving at the secluded spot where his bus was, Russell opened the door using his ignition key and hopped, sitting on his driver's seat and buckling his seatbelt. He then used the key to start the engine and after that, closed the door. His screen for navigation was on every time the engine was turned on. Then, looking at the chaos through the windshield, Russell felt mad, making his blood boil.

 "I'll show you what happens if you do something so atrocious to me and my homeland!" his mind said.

And then, Russell shifted his gear to Drive and left the secluded spot, traversing the town's streets.

And then, his second Rampage had begun. Russell spotted some Batela's soldiers going to execute 5 random residents and just went forward towards the enemy soldiers, ramming them and killing them instantly before they would do their inhumane deed. The other Batela soldiers were shocked to see that, and Russell spoke through the bus's built-in speakers, "Oh, no, you don't, you bastards! I won't let you raid this town within my homeland!"

While the enemy soldiers were distracted by Russell's bus, the 5 residents managed to escape the area.

Seeing that their 5 almost-to-be-victims had escaped made the enemy soldiers in that area, 4 of them, mad and tried to attack Russell's strange metal vehicle.

But it was easy for Russell, so he reversed his bus, and when the 4 Batela soldiers charged towards the front of it, Russell shifted his gear to Drive and rammed them hard, killing them.

 Soon after, Russell began the big part of his second Rampage across town, killing some of Batela's soldiers and even a handful of their horses. One Batela soldier tried to defend himself with his shield, but it was so, so useless, and Russell killed him instead after breaking through his shield so easily. Another Batela soldier tried to shoot fire arrows at the back of his bus, but it was, too, useless. Russell heard that and reversed his bus to ram him, killing him under its tires. And so, Russell continued his Rampage against Batela's soldiers. And another time, a few Batela soldiers tried to break into the bus, but Russell used his Conductor ability to electrocute them, frying them in high volts of electricity like meat. Those soldiers then fell to the ground dead and all fried up.

 Batela's soldiers are so afraid of Russell's strange machine of death. Some of them ran for their lives, while others tried their best to fight back for their kingdom's sake. But, those who dared to fight back were ran over and crushed by the bus's body. The townspeople, who were hiding in their homes and businesses, come out and are stunned to see a strange metal machine killing off the invaders.

Hearing the chaos and destruction, Azalea, Kelly, John, Nathan, Ria, and Rai came out of the hospital and to the scene outside in town, only to stop and be stunned by Russell's rampage for vengeance for the humble, beautiful town.

 "Woah…"

 "No way…"

 "So cool!"

And then, Nathan and the dragon family decided to join into the battle with their abilities.

Nathan used his Wolf Control ability to call any wolves outside in the surrounding forests to help out in the fight against Batela.

And so, 12 wolves, consisted of 5 White Moon Wolves, 4 Dark Wolves, and 3 Blood Wolves, came to the town and started attacking and devouring some of Batela's soldiers in just seconds.

The dragon family used their abilities against some of the other Batela soldiers.

They and Nathan are cooperating with each other to help Russell in his counterattack against Batela.

Russell saw that and was positive that his friends are helping out as well, before continuing his Rampage against Batela.

Azalea and John, meanwhile, stayed behind to help out the residents survive the invasion by leading them into the hospital's sanctuary-style of refuge.

 After much ramming and hitting, over 23 Batela soldiers are left alive. The rest were killed. Then, Russell stopped and grabbed his microphone. "Alright then, anyone?" There is a short silence among the foreign invaders, until one soldier raised his sword in retaliation. "We won't back down! We will kill you!"

He then charged towards the front of the bus.

But as usual towards some of his enemies, Russell shifted his gear to drive and pressed on the gas pedal, ramming towards the foolish invader.

This strikes him so much it sends him towards a wall of a building, hitting his head.

He died as a result.

 "Now," Russell spoke to the remaining Batela soldiers through the microphone, "next?"

He said that with a threatening and hostile tone.

This time, the leftover invaders surrendered to him in fear and even dropped their weapons as proof.

 "Please, we surrender!"

 "Don't kill us…"

With that, Russell replied, "Good."

 Then, some of the surviving town guards came and apprehended the Batela soldiers and took away their weapons. Many of the townspeople started to approach the bus, and Russell opened the door and get off. And then, the townspeople cheered and gave their applauses to him.

 "Thank you!"

 "You saved our town!"

Those responses resonate across the area.

Russell was happy to do something noble for them, so he bowed deeply a few times in being appreciated.

And then, his friends ran to him and asked him if he was okay.

 "Yes, I'm fine, guys," he replied back happily.

 "That was insane, Russell-kun," Azalea commented in admiration.

 "You really kicked their asses for doing a foreign invasion on us," Rai added.

"You're so cool!" Kelly exclaimed in admiration.

John was a little bit proud of his owner's act of heroism.

Overwhelmed by their compliments, Russell replied, "Yeah, yeah, thank you, guys."

 Then, as things are settling down, the mayor of Halestone Town came and gave his thanks to Russell for saving his town. "You're welcome, sir," Russell responded back. "I'm just doing my job." The mayor chuckled. "But you and your friends did so much to save us all. For that, I'll be hosting a feast on your honor."

Russell at first resisted it, but the fat, middle-aged man insisted.

So, the bus driver accepted, much to the townspeople's excitement.

And so, after clearing the dead bodies and cleaning the place, they all had a feast in the town square. There were food, drinks, and lively entertainment, and eating, drinking, chatting, and laughing. Others had managed to recover their stolen belongings and goods from the dead Batela soldiers. While that happened, Nathan said to Russell how cool he was at using his vehicle to kill his enemies.

 "Yeah, thanks, El Caballero Nathan," Russell responded back. "But I am still ethical at doing that to my enemies."

 "Ah, got that, amigo," Nathan responded back.

Then, Kelly came to him with a plate full of delicious food. "Hey, Russell-kun, have some food."

Upon seeing that, Russell accepted it with gratitude. "Thanks, Kelly."

Their female friends are eating and drinking with some of the town's women and girls while chatting with them.

John was eating some roasted meat near Nathan as well, and Nathan's summoned 12 wolves are also eating meat with John, too.

And so, Russell grabbed the spoon and fork and get some of his food, before eating them.

He tasted its complex flavors, and he was allured by them. "So good!"

It seems that what happened to one town in the Southern Plains was coming to an end and thus, peace at last.
