I rose from the chair, careful not to disturb my beautiful Lycia, still sleeping peacefully. After what she had been through—the kidnapping and then the birth of our child—she needed rest. The nursing staff would bring the baby in soon to feed, and I didn’t want to wake her before then. Her long blonde hair fanned out over the pillow, giving her an ethereal look despite everything she had been through over the past twenty-four hours. Thank the goddess that wolves heal quickly.
I pressed a soft kiss to her forehead before slipping into the hallway.
