"Huh?" Yang Gang was taken aback momentarily. After all, he had never heard Su Xiaoxi speak to him in such a tender tone, saying 'I miss you a bit'.

Gu Xiaorou rolled her eyes, "Huh your head, your wife misses you!"

Over the phone, Su Xiaoxi paused, then also rolled her eyes, "Yang Gang, do you always have me on speaker when I call you?"

"No, Xiaorou, she's right by my side, she heard your voice because she was too close," Yang Gang quickly explained.

"I see." Su Xiaoxi's tone returned to its usual tranquillity. After a brief moment of reflection, she chuckled, "It's nothing, just that it's quite boring here in San Francisco, so I thought I'd give you a call. You go ahead with your work, I'll hang up first."

After ending the call, Su Xiaoxi picked up her glass of red wine again, took a small sip, and quietly looked up at the bright moon.
