Chapter 95. Abilities 1

One week passed.

Alaric opened his eyes and stared at the similar surroundings. He looked around and did not see anyone in the room. He needed to leave as soon as possible.

He kept ignoring the system's notification which kept popping up. He opened the door and walked outside. He appeared in another room but there was still another door.

He did not pay much heed on the surroundings as he opened the next door. This one finally led him out. He appeared on the first floor.

Looking below him, he saw a group of five individuals. Three of them being female. He headed towards the stairs and walked towards them.

They finally heard him and all eyes fell on him. The girl with the veil. He did not understand why she would put on a veil when infront of her friends.

But meddling with other's private affairs was something he did not delve in. He saw her stand up and walk towards him. She stopped a meter away from him.

"You are finally awake," she said. Alaric did not appear to hear her but he suddenly looked at her and nodded. Seeing that she had gone silent, he realized that it was rude of him.

"Sorry I was distracted. You have my thanks and if there is something I can use to repay you as long as it is within my means I will," he said solemnly.

"Would you mind telling us why you were laying on the pool of blood when I found you? Your life may in danger if someone is after you. You must not be careless," she said honestly.

Alaric was silent for a while before he replied.

"Sorry but I must go. I can't afford to waste more time. Every second wasted could be tragic," he said seriously. She looked at him and nodded.

Alaric found something strange about her gaze. It felt like she could see through him.

"And may I ask where I am?" He asked. She paused before replying.

"This is the Blue Eagle Region. The city is almost fiftykilometers to the west," she replied.

He liked the fact that she did not try to stop him. Many would try to probe more of his secrets even after he ignored their question. This improved her image in his eyes. He stopped thinking about that and started walking away.

"Wait!" She called when he reached the main door. He did not want to stop but he stopped.

"What?" he asked looking sideways. He was not irritated though.

"I can make you some clothes... That robe you are wearing..." She did not have the words to finish.

"Ah this," he said with a calm look.

He then changed into a pair of black pants and a white t-shirt. It happened with a thought! This shocked him alot. It usually took him almost five seconds but this time it had happened instantly.

" You sure you are not an old man in disguise?" One of the girls asked. Alaric looked at them and laughed lightly. It had been long since he released his aura.

He requested for Sarah to unseal it which she obliged. He felt like he was relieved of some pressure in his body. He smiled in satisfaction looking up in the ceiling.

He looked at them and saw that all of them had dropped on their knees. He saw that the girl though was gritting her teeth and her knees were shaking.

She suddenly could not take it and fell backwards. He quickly flashed and held her before she fell. He looked at her with an amused smile. His hand on her back. He then let go of her slowly and let her lay on the ground gently.

He was unsure why they were reacting like that and he had no choice but to ask Sarah to seal his cultivation. They all heaved relieved.

They who had fallen off their seats sat back and since he was still kneeling next to her, he took her hand and pulled her to stand up. She tried to wrestle off his hand but midway she gave up.

Even after he let go of her hand when she was back on her feet, she was still holding his. He cleared his throat and she finally understood and she pulled her hand away and took few steps back.

He also did not miss the angry stare from that one guy. He smiled when he locked eyes with him as he proceeded to the door. He turned and looked at them all.

"Hope you now know my cultivation. Its nothing to worry about. I don't know why you were overreacting. I am in the same stage as you all," he said as he opened the door.

He received glares on his back and he turned again to look at them.

"I am not joking," he said when he saw their half believing eyes.

"Its not that we have not known your cultivation but that power is different," the girl with the veil said.

" Bye then. If you meet me one day I might promise you to fulfil any of your request. Don't forget that is if it is within my means," he opened the door and left.

A few minutes after he left, the door opened. He stood there with a wry smile. Every eye turned to him.

" May I stay gor one more day? There is something I would like to check," he said waiting for them to allow him to enter or leave.

" Yes."

" No."

Came two answers. Yes from the girl and the no from the guy. The guy glared at him but he pretended to not see him.

"Yes," another answer came from the other guy.

He did not even think again as he went in and headed for the stairs. He climbed and entered the room he had been sleeping. He opened the door under the gazes of everyone.

All eyes turned to the girl. She looked away and summoned a book from her storage ring that she started reading.

"How are you all okay with this?" The guy asked but he got no reply. This also happened the day after they had saved that guy.

Alaric climbed on the bed. He was having a strange feeling. Now that he thought of it, he was supposed to be dead and even the best physician could not heal him this fast. Something must have happened.

He asked the system to bring him all the notifications he had ignored. It appeared it was almost a whole day's worth. He sighed and opened the main notification.

What he did not miss was the fact that the words were now written in gold. The screen appeared of higher definition and its quality seemed to have improved. He was smiling as he read the main notification.

Alaric stared at the notification tab after he finished reading it. He had a serious look. One was because he was confused and one was because of the last mission.

"What is an intent?" He asked.

Answer- an intent is a reward from the universe. An intent is granted by the universe from a person's unshakable will. Your will to live was so strong than the will of death to take you. This helped you comprehend the Death Intent.

A death intent is learned by accepting death and learning from it how it works. In your near death, your will to live was so strong such that you forcibly awakened time and space elements in an attempt to protect yourself from death's grasp.

Had you accepted death during that time, you would have learned the original Death Intent. The death intent you learned can also be termed as a Death Contract. It is because you were able to cage death and also managed to make it bow to you. It would be very shameful of you as the immortal king to accept death.
