Once again, Sawyer and Travis went up to See Tom in Tate’s room. Sawyer, despite his musing, came up with nothing and he wasn’t the only one. “Hi.” Travis greeted, inches away from the bed Tom was seated upright on.
“Good evening.” Tom’s greeting was a little grumpy. All they both needed to know he’s still upset. But not that he has any problem with their clear intentions to make this right, he felt it was just futile. What’s going to happen when summer is over? And on top of that, he really really wants to be told he can go visit Tate. But that’s a dream that will never happen and it’s taking forever for him to come to terms with that.
The silence was not awkward, it was empty in every way. “I’ll be down stairs.” Travis announced, since there’s nothing for him to say. He left the room, leaving the brothers alone together.
