Elias stormed back up to Tom’s room while Travis drove off with Sawyer. Elias was fuming, wriggling his fingers to keep from making fists and a deep scowl on his face that had not shown itself in days. He pushed the room door open with more force than he intended but paid it no mind. The sudden slam forced Tom, who had been pacing to turn around and face his uncle. His own scowl softened into confusion at the anger on his uncle’s face.
Elias pointed at him. “I was with you!” He barked. “I agreed with you! But you spoke too much! You could have left it at that but you kept going! If anyone is ruining your family Tom, it’s you!”
The accusation made Tom’s eyes widened in shock and his scowl return. Him? He ruining it? “It was ruined before anything I said.” Tom defended.
“Why do you think they came here?” Tom clenched his jaw, refusing to answer, refusing to care. “They came to apologize and fix it.”
