Chapter 68

Something is wrong. Nature is complete silence. It is like the calm before the storm. It has been two days since my father told me to investigate the monster-summoning device. Sadly, with this massive forest around us, I only found one more device.

Sadly, we are too late to come, as the people around the device are dead.

We buried the dead and destroyed the device. Sadly, that is the last device we can find in the past two days.

"Father!"

I snap from my thoughts and look to the right. I can see Sonia walk toward me with a smile on her face. She and her group arrived yesterday. Ever since she arrived, she kept close to me. In truth, she is the reason why we found that damned device.

"Sonia, how are you?"

"Great! What are we going to do today?"

I look at the distance and say.

"I don't know, Sonia. Something is coming, and I have a feeling it is the enemy."

"The enemy? Will they attack that fast? I thought grandfather said they will attack after the rest of the army comes?"
