"Why did you choose to become a mercenary?"
Henry asked Ann, his curiosity piqued.
"From what I understand, the profession of a mercenary, fraught with danger and challenges, isn't typically favored by most women."
Ann pouted slightly before responding, "Actually, I wanted to prove to my father that I could live independently, away from him."
"You know, being a child raised in a military environment, I've always had a bit of a wild side."
"Yet, my father wished for me to be a lady, to stay at home obediently under his protection, living a safe life."
"But I didn't want to be just the one who is protected." Clenching her fists with resolve, Ann continued passionately, "I wanted to protect my father too. I know that ever since my mother passed away, he has been exhausted, trying every possible way to provide the best living conditions for me."
