There was no response

*Knock Knock*

"Hello? Old lady i'm one of the kids that visited you just recently?"

I knocked on the door and even called out for her but there was no response

I turned to look at Cosmo who's face quickly turned to seriousness

"Hold my prizes..."

Cosmo went near me and handed his stuff toys and tries to call out for the old lady

"Hey! old lady Sherby!"

*Bang Bang Bang!*

Cosmo yelled for the old lady as he goes banging her door

Sherby?

"Who's sherby?"

I asked Cosmo who was continuously banging the door calling for the old lady

He then turned to look at me and answered

"Old lady Sherby, Whenever i'm in trouble I go to her..."

I nod my head in understanding while I held the prizes tightly Cosmo handed me

Cosmo then turned to look at the doorknob but as soon as he tried to turn the doorknob

The door was already open

It put a shock on our faces both of our hearts were beating fast and is nervous to what's to come

Cosmo gave me a glance and nodded his head I nodded back...

*Creeeeeaaaaak*

Cosmo then opened the door to reveal a very dark room...

But everything is in place except the old lady isn't here

"Old Sherby..."

Cosmo whispered

"How did you know old lady Sherby?"

I asked looking at Cosmo who was so scared and worried for the old lady

Cosmo did not gave me a glance and just kept quiet

"How did you know her Cosmo, I want to know"

I asked again

And this time Cosmo looked at me and made a worried face

"*sigh* I'm not telling you not because I don't want to, It's because it's not the time yet..."

Cosmo's eyebrows furrowed and gave me a sad face

"Why is it not the time yet? I want to know"

I asked again

I know i'm being stubborn but what can I do?

I need to know

Cosmo then looked around the old lady's house to look for clues

I did the same I put the prizes down and help with the search

"Hey you still didn't answer me..."

I looked at Cosmo who was troubled he turned to look at me and looked back to what he was doing

"It's just not the time yet, you still haven't talked to her you'll know when that right time is once you talk to her"

Cosmo said as he continued to look around

"Mm"

I answered

Who is her?

I thought

I wanted to ask Cosmo who she is but I guess he'll answer that it isn't the time yet

Something like that...

I looked around but there was still nothing, no clues everywhere here in the living room

I noticed a door at the end of the hallway

I stand up straight and went closer to the door

I turned the knob but it was shut tight....

It wasn't from the knob, but it was shut like there was stopping it from the inside

"What?"

I mumbled

Cosmo then patted my shoulder

"Let me take a look"

Cosmo said

I then backed away and Cosmo came running to the door

*Bang!*

The door swung open making the door a little broken

The both of us then went inside the old lady's room

"2 chairs were blocking the door..."

Cosmo said and gave me a glance

As we looked around the old lady's room I noticed the bathroom door is slightly opened

I went near the bathroom and opened the door wide

I saw a broken window with a lot of blood on it

I gasped and covered my mouth with my hands shocked

"Cosmo come here quickly!"

I yelled calling for Cosmo to come to the bathroom

Cosmo then came running with a worried face

"What is it?! what happened?!"

Cosmo looking at me worried

I then stared in thin air and pointed at the broken glass on the floor and then the window

Cosmo's face went blank to see the broken glass and blood

"What happened here?"

Cosmo said in shock talking to himself

But I couldn't answer and just kept quiet

Cosmo then kneeled down and looked for something that could be a clue for what happened to the old lady

As I was standing in shock I noticed something on the floor

I kneeled down to take a closer look and it was a bracelet

It looks quiet familiar

I thought as I rubbed my chin trying to remember who it was

It looks like one of the bracelets I gave to them... but I don't remember who it belongs to

"Is there anything there Athy?"

Cosmo looked at me asking

I quickly hid the bracelet under my skirt

"N-no there's nothing here!x

I said stuttering

Cosmo looked at me suspiciously but then dropped it

" Hooo~"

I sighed in relief

"Let's report this to the authorities"

I said looking at Cosmo

"Heh"

Cosmo laughed and looked at me

"Do you think they will investigate a commoner's house?"

Cosmo looking at me in a serious face and mocking me a little

"And why won't they?"

I asked back raising one of my eyebrows back at Cosmo

But Cosmo just smirked mocking me yet again

"You don't know how this world woks Athy"

Cosmo said as he turned his back on me and begins to pick his prizes

"Plus I don't think that old lady Sherby is dead yet"

Cosmo said in a confident tone walking away from me to the front door

"I just know it..."

Cosmo mumbled

"Cosmo let's just report a missing person, and what if they go and look for the old lady?"

I said looking at Cosmo worried

Cosmo stopped and thought about it

"Just to be sure"

I said smiling worriedly

Cosmo then looked at his prizes and then looked at me and nodded

"Ok let's do that"

I said as I walked near him and patted his head

Cosmo looming down just let me pat him and he stood there silently

Walking in complete silence

I looked at Cosmo who was still deep in thought

I turned to look at the road again and thought deep

Everytime I spend time with Cosmo he's beginning to look like a little brother to me

I thought smiling

Having a sibling like Cosmo isn't so bad

"I heard why your thoughts are Athy..."

Cosmo said looking at me smiling warmly

I then panicked and stopped walking

"Why were you even reading my thoughts?!"

I said embarrassed yelling at Cosmo

"I can't help it you were so lost in thought that I got curious hehe"

Cosmo chuckled as he scratched his cheek softly

I was angry at first but my face then begun to soften

"Right, what I said in my head are true Cosmo I'd like ot have a little brother like you"

I smiled at Cosmo blushing a little

Admitting this to him is embarrassing but since he heard my thoughts there's no turning back

Cosmo looked at me shocked and blushing slightly

He gave me a warm smile that could be as bright as the moon that shine with us in this dark alley

"Yeah, you'd be very lucky to have a little brother like me"

Cosmo said happily

He then turned around and started walking

He may be annoying but he's a kind boy

After saying that inside my head I then followed Cosmo

We walked towards where we would wait for our ride

We laughed on the way and chatted

I think me and Cosmo are a little more closer now

I smiled softly thinking about it

....

The both of us then arrived at home

We greeted Mother and Miya both of them welcomed us back home

As I was to sleep I then remembered

"Oh no! I was supposed to visit Claude today but I forgot!"

I then facepalm myself

"Why did I forget?!"

I said jumping around furious

I must have had a lot of fun with Cosmo today...

First my fate, Second is Claude, and now the old lady has gone missing

I then flopped on the bed facing the ceiling thinking of what's to come

Why?

Why is it like this?

Everytime I changed something in the novel

The story goes to a different direction

And whenever I try and save myself my life keeps getting difficult and dangerous

It's like they're telling me to just give up....

*sigh*

I sighed heavily

*Knock Knock*

I jumped out of bed because I was startled by the sudden knock

Who is it in this time of night?

Is it Miya? Mother?

....A ghost?

Thinking about that I got scared I then looked for something to throw

I noticed the slipper I threw earlier so I took it and made it my weapon

I stand guard and readied my aim

*Knock Knock*

Knocking sound was then heard again

I slowly came closer to the door

"W-who is there?"

I asked nervously readying to aim my weapon

"This feels like a deja vu"

I whispered to myself

And then....

"Athy what are you doing? open the door it's me Cosmo"

Cosmo said whispering behind my door

Cosmo?!

What is he even doing in this time?

I thought it was somebody else!

I then gave a sigh of relief and put down the holy slippers

I then walked to the door and slowly opened it to reveal Cosmo peeking behind my door eerily...

"Eeeekkk!"

I shouted scared

"Shh shhh it's just me"

Cosmo whispered trying to shush me

"Why are you doing that?! don't do that again!"

I shouted whispering at Cosmo

"What are you even doing here?"

I asked

Cosmo then looked back at me and said

"I can't sleep let's talk here..."

Cosmo said

Can't sleep?
