Chapter 31

We then said our goodbyes and went back to our dorms

As I was about to change my clothes

*Bang!*

My door then swung open!

I looked to see what had happened and there was Cosmo who was happily grinning and went near me

"W-wait Cosmo! what are you doing this is the woman's dormitory!"

I shouted

I took the pillow and threw it at Cosmo who caught it and smiled brightly

I looked surprised to see his good reflex

He then went near me he, looked into my eyes and said

"Let's go out for a walk!"

Cosmo excitedly said

"For a walk what are you talking about? plus the patroller won't let us since the sun's going down"

I said as I pointed outside of my window

Claude looked back at it again and looked at me confused

*Sigh*

I sighed heavily

"Look Cosmo we can't go out now, The sun is setting and I need to sleep early for tomorrow, okay?"

I said looking straight into his eyes crossing my arms

"And where will you be going?"

Cosmo asked pointing at me

"To my home than i'll visit Claude since I did not see him since that day, I'll be asking how he's doing"

I answered

I then took a sit and wrote something on a piece of paper

"What are you doing?"

Cosmo asked as he sat down on my table

I glared at him i took my pen and poked his side

"Get you're butt off my table!"

He jumped off the table and yelled

"It tickles, this is my weak spot Athy!"

He glared back at me

"Grrrrr"

He poked my forehead and I poked him back

"You don't poke me Cosmo!"

I yelled at him

"Why what are you gonna do about it Athy?!"

Cosmo talked back

We then continued to poke each other until it tire the both of us

*Huff huff huff*

"Don't poke me again Cosmo"

I looked at him with threatening eyes

Cosmo glared back and put out his tongue

"Bleeeh"

Tch!

I then lied down my bed and looked up at the ceiling

I noticed Cosmo wasn't going away

He just leaned on the wall and stared at me

"What are you looking at?"

I asked him looking at him with brows furrowed

Cosmo stared at me then said

"I need to show you something that's why I said let's go to town"

Cosmo said as he crossed his arms while he's leaning on a wall

I then sat up and looked at Cosmo straight in the eyes

"What will you be showing me?"

I asked fidgeting my hands

"I have this terrible feeling that someday this peace won't last long"

Cosmo said in a serious tone

Cosmo looked at the chair I sat on earlier he took it then sat on it

"About Lianna, did you notice something wrong about her?"

Cosmo asked

"Something weird?"

I asked back to make sure I heard it right

"Did something change from her attitude? her aura, did her appearance somewhat changed?"

Cosmo said tapping his foot whil his hands are crossed

I then thought about it

The last time I talked with her.....

Her attitude changed she wasn't like she used to be....

But then again she's grown up now she must have matured

I said

Her aura did change her aura before was somewhat annoying and malicious but now it was like something dark that I can't explain....

It was something like someone is in there something controlling her

And.....

The last time I talked to her her eyes became bright red, But I think I just saw it wrong

"No you didn't"

Cosmo said

"Have you been reading my mind?"

I asked him annoyed

"I told you I can read minds and since I saw you thinking seriously I thought why not read what's she thinking"

Cosmo said

"Maybe Lianna was the one who she...."

Cosmo mumbled

"What are you mumbling about?"

I asked Cosmo

He then looked at me and answered

"I won't be telling you yet since i'm still not sure... I'll be telling you once I am"

I then kept quiet and thought about something he mentioned earlier

"The red eyes thing you said earlier.... I don't think that was your imagination"

Cosmo said in a serious tone

"Is that so? her eyes did become red that time"

I said

I looked at Cosmo who was thinking about it too

But then I noticed Cosmo's eyes are red

And red eyes are not commonly seen here....

I don't think I ever seen anyone with red eyes

I stared at Cosmo

He seemed to have noticed and asked me

"What is it?"

"Your eyes why is it red like grass lady?"

I asked and looked at him straight in the eyes

"..... This wasn't supposed to be known by you this early but since it has come to this, I will tell you"

Cosmo said

I leaned closer to him and listened

"Red eyes aren't very rare in the olden days, many people have them, they treated red eyes as a.... Holy thing"

Cosmo's eyes became dull red his eyes became blank explaining the history of red eyes

"There was once a beautiful lady and was one of the holiest and purest woman in the village"

"And since she's one of the people who serves the people above... she must and always stay pure and to give her love as she should like a sister, a mother, a brother, a father and nothing more"

"Then one day a man with red eyes has arrived in their village, this young one was a troublemaker and would make the holiest of people go crazy...."

"But once the man has set his eyes on the beautiful woman he immediately fell in love.... the both of them did at first sight"

"The man and the woman were one of the people who serve the people above and shouldn't feel anything other than a man who cares about the other like a family, they thought there would be no problems... But both the man and the woman got caught"

"They took the man into custody since they thought that because of him the woman's purity is now gone..... they gave him and option, To kill her..... or don't see her ever again"

"After that the woman who has no clue of what's happening saw the one she loved the most kissed another in front of her, the woman went on a rampage and soon the ones who has the red eyes should be wiped out.... Since the one who serves the ones above are the ones who destroyed their village...."

"And now... there are no people who has the red eyes since all of them have been ordered to wipe them out..."

"..."

Cosmo then went quiet and look down on the floor

"Hey.."

I called out to him

He moved to me but his head is still facing down

"Why.... why are you still here when all of the ones who have red eyes were all wiped out?"

I asked looking at him curiously

".....I'm lucky I got away, yeah...."

Cosmo said in a soft tone

I looked closely at Cosmo who's head is bowed down looking at the floor

I leaned even closer and asked

"What happened to the man and the woman who has red eyes?"

Cosmo then looked at me sadly smiling softly

"The both of them sold themselves to the one below"

Cosmo said in the most saddest tone

Why is he so sad?

Was he so sad by the legend he talked about?

I gently patted Cosmo's back who was saddened by his own story

I looked at Cosmo who's head is looking down and made a worried face unknowingly

"I'll go now Athy..."

Cosmo said as he stood up and walked away from me

Cosmo then opened the door he turned his head back to me and said

"I'll be coming with you tomorrow and let's go to town"

Cosmo smiled sadly and nodded

He then step out of my room and shut the door softly

"....."

Just a while ago we were happily poking and teasing each other but now.... It has gone quiet

Looking at Cosmo's saddened face made me want to cry too

He showed emotions where he hasn't shown

He told me the legend of the people with red eyes and how they got wiped out....

The woman and the man in his story sold their souls down below

The woman went on a rampage because she saw the man she loved kissed another

The man who had to do it was forcefully told he has to break up with her.....

What's wrong with that dude he could have just told her "let's break up"

*Sigh* what do I know I haven't even got into a relationship

It must be hard for him too, there must be a reason why he has to do it that way

"...."

My face then became sad at the thought of it

"Hearing that story made me sad and sleepy"

The story Cosmo had told made me sleepy so I decided to just change my clothes and lied down on the bed

I tossed and turn but I still can't sleep I then lied straight and look up in the ceiling *sigh*

I Thought about the story over and over again

I wanted to know the things around me to help myself to survive

But my gut keeps on telling me.... my days will become harder and harder when I try to survive even more...

My life will become harder once I know more and more about what's happening around this world...

Or am I just thinking it too far since I have been on edge lately

I can't seem to take a sleep...

I stood up and look outside of my window to see the moon shining beautifully

I can feel myself calming and smiling and thought about the days where me, Cythe, and Claude happily playing under the moon

But that imagination stopped as I noticed someone from the far distance standing still...

"Who? who is that?"

I mumbled

But as I look closer and closer his figure seems to look more clearer

I squinted my eyes see who it was

My eyes then went bigger in shock to see a familiar face

"Claude?!"

I shouted so loud

But i'm glad no one had heard me

I looked at the man again and he was still there

"I'm sure it's Claude!"

I quickly took my shawl and hurriedly went down to run after Claude who I see near the school's bushes

I finally arrived but downstairs Claude is still far away

I don't know if he saw me but he start's to walk away and did not look back

"Claude! wait!"

I shouted desperately

"Claude! Where are you going?!"

I asked and called out his name but he did not hear me

He then completely vanished as I was getting closer and closer

"Claude....Huff huff hufff"

I was out of breath form shouting and running towards him

But in the end all that was for nothing

"Huff huff huff"

Why was he here?

Why didn't he stopped and looked back?

Why is Claude even doing here?

I asked myself multiple times but of course I can't answer since I don't know either

I'm sure it was Claude I won't mistake him for anyone else

"Claude..."

I called out to his name softly

I was standing there still I looked up at the moon who was shining ever so brightly

"Huff...hufff"

I wiped my sweat off of me from running

"Athy?"

Someone called for me I then looked to see who it was

I saw Josefina standing infront of me with worried look

"Why are you here?"

Josefina asked in a worried tone

But I just smiled and did not answer

Josefina guessed that I don't want to talk about it

She just smiled back and showed her hand out to me and said

"Let's go now together"

Josefina smiled happily

I then nodded and smiled

"...."

As we walk towards the dorms I thought...

Why is Ina even here?

I asked myself once again
