"Xie... Uncle?"
He Gu called out uncertainly.
Xie Yundu nodded, then made a "shush" gesture toward He Gu.
Unfortunately, it still woke Jiang Yi up.
Their gazes met, and Xie Yundu smiled, asking softly, "Did I wake you up?"
Jiang Yi's eyes, misty with sleep, appeared exceptionally clear and bright.
She quietly watched Xie Yundu, giving no answer.
Xie Yundu was especially gentle with everyone, not to mention his own daughter.
He tentatively inquired, "Do you want to go to my office to rest for a bit? Your grandfather probably won't wake up any time soon."
He Gu turned his head to look at Jiang Yi.
Jiang Yi was about to refuse, but then she heard He Gu say, "You should go, it's cold here. And my legs are numb already; if you keep sleeping on me, I might need an amputation by morning."
Xie Yundu let out a soft chuckle, and after a moment's hesitation, Jiang Yi said to He Gu, "I'll be back soon, please take care of my grandfather for me."
He Gu agreed without hesitation.
