|3rd POV|
"My lord! My lord!"
Vinys Orloris, the new Gonfaloniere of Lys, opens his eyes and opens the door to his bedroom. When he opens the door, he can see one of the guards he posted around his mansion look at him with a pale expression.
"What is it? This better be important to wake me up in the middle of the night."
The soldiers gasp a big air and say.
"My lord! The Solaris Kingdom is attacking us!"
"What?! They dare to attack us?! Those upstart bastards!"
Vinys puts on his Gonfaloniere clothes and follows the soldiers to the wall of Lys. One of the soldiers gives him a spyglass to let him see a massive fleet sailing to their city. Vinys punches the wall underneath him and roars in anger.
"Dammit!"
He turns to the slave next to him and says.
"Go to the First Magister mansion! Tell him to write a letter telling the mercenaries in the Disputed Land to return! We need them as fast as possible."
He turns to his mansion's guard and says.
"Wake the other Unsullied! Tell them to get here and defend the wall! We need to defend the wall against those barbarians."
The guard nods and quickly goes to the barrack, where the remaining Unsullied sleep. Vinys, on the other hand, stays on the wall, looking at the incoming enemies with a frown. His mind is already working to form a plan to make sure to defend the city for as long as possible.
He asks the others to bring a map so he can form an accurate plan for the incoming battle. However, he snaps from his thoughts when a man in his late fifties walks toward him. Vinys gets up and says.
"First Magister Harlos"
Harlos Irnos, the First Magister of Lys, looks at the distance and frowns.
"How long until they arrive here?"
"In a few hours, my lord. Seven hours at most."
Harlos nods his head and looks at the map on the ground.
"Where do you think they will land?"
Vinys nods and points his finger at the map.
"Here. They will land here. It is a perfect place to land."
"That small village? Why not at the dock? They are outside of our wall, but it is the nearest landing spot."
"Because their ship will have a hard time docking, my lord. They bring a lot of ships, and if they decide to use the dock, we can rain down fire arrows at them and destroy all their ships before they even land."
Vinys shakes his head and says.
"No. The fishing village will be the perfect spot to land their troops. It has soft sand and without any defenders."
"I see. Should we send people there?"
"No. It is a waste of men. Let them take over that place. We can take them over when the mercenary in the Disputed Land returns. For now, we need to use all of our people to defend the wall."
"What do you need? As long as you manage to defend this city, I will give you anything you want."
"Then, can you gather all the slaves? We need them as a meat shield. We did not have enough men to maintain both the wall and the ground. We need people to defend behind the gate in case they manage to breach it. I also need some of the slaves that know how to fight."
Harlos frowns for a second before saying.
"It is dangerous to hand slaves a weapon."
"Don't worry, my lord. I will make sure they cannot do anything. Once they have some kind of thinking of using the weapon against us, I will kill them."
Harlos thinks for a few seconds before nodding his head.
"Very well. I shall tell the others to let you borrow their slaves. We can buy more as long as we survive this battle."
Vinys bows and says.
"Thank you, my lord. You do not need to worry. We will win this fight and kick them out of our land."
"Good. I will leave this in your hand."
Vinys nods and continues on planning the defense of Lys. The two of them did not see a few of the soldiers walk away from the wall and enter one of Lee's countless alleys. They walk toward one of the houses and see a man sitting in front of a fireplace.
The man looks at them and says.
"How is it?"
One of the soldiers walks forward and says.
"The Gonfaloniere want to gather all slaves and give them weapons."
"Really? Are you telling the truth?"
"Yes, sir."
The man smiles and says.
"The Gods are favoring us. Instead of stealing weapons, they land on our lap."
"However, I don't think they will give the best weapon. Maybe a spear and nothing else."
"That is already enough for us. I will tell the others to prepare and ensure we attack them where it hurts. Go back to your post and continue to watch over the Gonfaloniere. However, make sure to come here alone next time rather than the three of you at once."
The three soldiers nod their heads and leave the house to return to their post. The man drinks the wine and gets up from his chair. He walks toward a box and opens it up. He takes out a doll and a necklace from the box and kisses them one by one.
"Don't worry. I shall avenge you two. I shall make that man suffer."
He put the doll on the table and put the necklace around the doll before leaving the house.

The air is tense as the defenders of Lys look at the army in front of them. The siege has already started, and now it is their job to defend the city for as long as possible before the reinforcements arrive.
Vinys can see the Solaris Army cutting down trees nearby, making ladders, and battering rams. He already calculates how many ladders or battering rams they can make with the trees around Lys. Because of this, he is already planning to burn as many of them as possible using fire arrows and oil. To delay their advancement as long as possible.
However, there is something that confuses him.
"Why are they standing there, ready? Are they going to attack us now? Are they underestimating us too much?"
The Solaris Army just arrived at their land, and Vinys knows that they need time to prepare and rest. However, seeing them ready to move, he is confused and angry. He was angry because he thought that the Solaris Army underestimated him and Lys too much.
However, before he can say more things, he hears a massive explosion happening around the city. He turns around and gape at the explosions. However, he snaps from his thoughts when he hears screams from the slaves, and when he sees them, they are killing his soldiers and opening the gate.
"Traitor! Kill them! Close the gate!"
Sadly for him, that is when a loud war horn gets blown from the Solaris Army. The battle starts before even the sun goes down.
