Don't Freak Out

Maya was horribly embarrassed by her breakdown. She never cried like that in front of ANYBODY but she had been in a lot of pain and more emotionally vulnerable than usual because she didn't understand why her husband was taking such good care of her. Or seemed offended that she thought he wouldn't. 

He had fretted over her more than she thought he was capable of. She had found it unusual but having him straight out admit he was worried about her was even weirder. Then he didn't understand why she thought he wouldn't worry about her, which only made her more confused.

She had been trying so hard not to have any expectations of him after he had been more considerate lately. So why did he have to go and specifically say he wanted her to have higher expectations of him?
