Someone's Pulling Strings

When Yuri arrived at the emergency scene, her eyes immediately caught the sight of blood splattered everywhere, the lifeless bodies of two level-two insectoids, and a battered mecha.

"Ron?" Yuri called out.

"Cough, cough, I'm here." Ron crawled out from the mecha.

Yuri, looking at his blood-soaked figure, stepped out from her own mecha, thinking to herself that this was no minor injury.

"Don't move, wait for me there," Yuri hurriedly approached him. She was originally planning to take out a medical kit from her dimensional button, but seeing his severed lower leg, she retrieved her own healing pod instead.

Before Ron could speak, she stripped off his tattered cotton jacket, used a knife to cut his pants, leaving only the section above the knee.

Ron's pale face flushed, and he dared not meet Yuri's eyes.

"Was your leg bitten off by an insectoid?" Yuri asked.

Ron merely grunted in response.
