Coco Adel 2

Just in case a reminder, Coco will be the focus of the story for a few chapters as you could see I even titled her.

It's about how discovers her new ability and how she would use it.

Coco slowly regained her consciousness, the first thing she noticed wasn't her surroundings but instead, it was her mouth, her throat was dry, and her lips had some cracks.

She's fucking thirsty! She swears to the brothers that she never felt so thirsty in her entire life!

"Coco! You're awake!" A relieved voice was heard right beside her, as she shifted her face toward that direction, she saw Velvet approaching her bed.

"W..wa..ter! Hi..be..me!" Her voice hoarse as her throat is as dry as it could be, Velvet understood her assignment and quickly took some water to the nearest water dispenser.

A second later, Velvet came back with a glass of water that could contain 1L of liquid.

Coco took the water out of Scarlatina's hands, it was rude but frankly, she didn't care as her mouth was dry.

Chugging the glass of water without hesitation, the 1L water quickly vanished, Velvet was astonished by how fast her leader drank the water.

"Puuwahh! Cough- cough-" Coco started coughing, there was no surprise there as she chugged the whole glass of water within a matter of seconds.

"Hooooooh…!" Aside from coughing, Coco never felt so alive! 

"That was the most delicious water that I have tasted in my life!" Coco felt wonderful, she couldn't remember the last she felt so free!

Velvet couldn't help but smile at her leader's antics, and said. "Good for you, now that you're okay, mind explaining what happened to you? We found you unconscious in some Vale's alley! Do you know how worried we are?!"

She demanded Coco for answers, Velvet wasn't usually like this, as she was normally a shy and gentle person, but right now her worries for Coco were overpowering her shyness.

That's why she came strong, and not her usual shyness.

Coco started to touch her chin with her fingers and replied. "Sorry, let me recall for a moment.."

The rabbit faunus sighs at her leader's reply but is willing to wait as she would get her answer anyway.

While Coco was trying to recall, the rest of her team, CFVY, arrived at the nurse's office.

Seeing (excluding fox since technically he's blind) that their leader was now awake and healthy, they couldn't help but sigh in relief, now they approached her bed and started demanding for answers like Velvet.

"What were you thinking Coco! Going alone in some Vale's alley?! Do you know how dangerous it was?! Even if you're a huntress-in-training, the streets of the vale are dangerous!" Yatsuhashi exclaimed in a bit of anger and annoyance at Coco's carelessness.

"Yatsu is right, even if you have an aura it's still dangerous," Fox said in a more calm manner.

However, Coco wasn't really listening right now, as she was trying to recall what happened before she became unconscious, and finally, she started to remember what happened.

"Ah! I remember now! I was in a mall to try some new fashion trends and met this really handsome hunk."

The two out of three of her teammates couldn't help but roll their eyes, Fox was an exception to this cause he's blind.

Then she continued, "Then, this handsome hunk claimed to be my father, which is crazy due to the fact that he looks like he became 20 years old!"

Fox couldn't help but say, "Are you sure that this person is sane?"

Coco nods at his words agreeing, "That's what I first thought too, especially when he asked me to call him 'daddy' in public!"

"What?! That bastard! Tell me his appearance, I'll beat the living shit out of him!" Yatsuhashi exclaimed his distaste at the guy.

"Well, that was my first reaction too but, he was a civilian so I chose to stay away from him, however, he continued to follow me insisting that he is my father not until I got pissed off at him and threatened to fire my Gianduja." 

"So, did the guy cower and run?" Fox said too eagerly.

"Surprisingly, no instead of cowering in fear, he did the opposite; he laughed it off, saying my weapon is a toy," Coco said frustrated, she's actually a bit offended by that comment.

"T-that guy called your weapon a toy? Are you sure he's not crazy?" It was Velvet who said this time, that she was questioning the sanity of the said person.

Coco couldn't help but sigh, "Certainly, I hope it was the case but no, that guy just isn't crazy, anyway all of the sudden he started reading my mind."

"Wait hold on a sec, reading your mind? Like literally?" Fox asked with a semi-shock expression.

It was also the same for the rest of the team, a mind-reading semblance? That's insane!

"Yes, he's literally reading my mind and I freak out, obviously it was really scary, then he started to approach and that moment I panicked and accidentally pulled the trigger of my weapon, when that happened I experienced 7 different types of despair, I mean I thought of him as an auraless person, a civilian meaning if I killed him by accident, my future career as a huntress is gone, and probably our team would be disbanded." Coco was really afraid of that happening, even if it's hypnotical.

Yatsuhashi, Fox, and Velvet understood her quite well, if they somehow injured, worse killed a civilian there is no doubt they'd be expelled at the beacon and probably get blacklisted to the other kingdom's academy and their future as huntsman and a huntress is over.

"I wasn't thinking clearly at that time, so I didn't think that he wasn't a civilian, so at the moment of my despair all of sudden, he caught my bullet with his damn hand! It was a dust-infused bullet okay?! Even with aura you can't get out of it unscratched, but that is exactly what he did, not only did he catch my weapon's bullet with ease, he was 100% fine without a damn scratch in his hand that he used to catch my dust infused bullet!" Coco exclaimed her frustration and disbelief to her teammates.

Their reactions? Well, obviously they are surprised, as they knew how lethal the dust-infused bullets of Coco's weapon were, not even Yatsuhashi could remain unscratched with that.

"So, I was like he gotta be a huntsman to do something like that, but nooo..he wasn't!"

"So, he's just a person with an aura and semblance?" Velvet asked.

Coco then chuckled nervously, "Bun-bun, that's the scary part, would you believe me if I told you that he doesn't have an aura at all?"

"No!" Answered Velvet almost immediately.

"That's right, imagine my disbelief when he said that, it was nonsense, it should be impossible for an aura less person to catch my bullet or get unscratched from that, but…he was really aura less, he said so himself there wasn't a single deceit in his face, you know me I prided myself knowing whether a person is lying or not as I stare at them for a full minute, but nothing so, in conclusion, he is telling the truth or he's the world's best actor for pulling off a stunt like that, but honestly the latter is easier for me to believe rather than the former." Coco chuckles for a bit before sighing.

Her team was processing what they just heard from their leader, whatever their leader was saying was unbelievable, nonsense even, an aura-less person catching their leader's dust-infused bullet? Impossible, but they believed it, because, for an entire year and a quarter of being their leader, Coco never lied to any of them, no matter how unbelievable their leader was saying, they believed it because to them, it was more unbelievable for their leader to lie right in front of their faces.

"Crazy right? I know, it's unbelievable but trust me, what I said is true." Coco said with a serious expression, there was no BS on her face.

"It's really hard to believe, no but you never really lied to us so, I believe," Yatsuhashi said with conviction.

"Indeed, no matter how unbelievable may it seem, I believe you." Fox nodded along with Velvet.

"I believe you too Coco."

Coco couldn't help but smile at her teammates' response, saying that they believe her even though what she witnessed is borderline nonsensical, she was glad that she had them as her teammates.

"So, what happened after?" Fox asked Coco, he was curious about what happened next.

"Well…what happened next was…strange after all of that, I started to believe that he might be my biology father.." Coco nervously scratches the back of her head.

"Seriously? You do?" Yatsuhashi said in shock, he knew that Coco wasn't a fool, but this…isn't it a bit foolish?

"I know! I know! I don't know but it just…happened okay? A part of me wanted to meet my biological father, it's been my goal since childhood you guys know that.." 

Velvet, Yatsuhashi, and Fox nodded, Coco told them more than once her desire to meet her biological father, so it was no surprise there.

"Even so, you said he looks like someone who just entered his 20's?" Yatsuhashi replied with a conflicted expression.

"Yes…" Coco said more quietly than usual.

"And you thought of him as a possible biological father of yours?" 

"Yes! Yes! Bite me okay?! I was desperate enough to believe it!" Coco shouted in frustration.

"While it was unusually stupid of you to act like that Coco, please continue I want to know what happened." Fox insisted for her to continue.

Yatsuhashi reluctance decided to let Coco continue the tale, and Coco couldn't help but thank Fox for that because it's making her look stupid.

"After that, well he stated convincingly that I'm his kin, his daughter and he said blood doesn't lie and told me to come closer," Coco said that last part quietly.

"Let me guess, you did what he told you." Fox couldn't help but pinch the side of his nose.

Yatsuhashi's eyes started twitching and stared at his leader with a 'are you for real' expression.

Coco couldn't stop herself from not looking, she was embarrassed alright! Even Velvet was looking at her with a similar expression.

"Well, it's as you say Fox I did what he said and after that…he touched my head and…I couldn't exactly describe what happened but it's like my body was released from something, it's a very strange feeling, to be honest, and after that my body felt like I was in a sauna for a whole day! After that, he said something but I wasn't sure what it was because at that moment my consciousness was fading and that's how I got unconscious in the alley of vale." Coco sighs as she finishes explaining what happened to her friends.

The room was silent for a moment before Velvet decided to break it.

"I-i'm glad that you're okay, but please be careful next time.." 

"Yeah, I know sorry to worry you guys." Coco sheepily apologized to her teammates.

"Good grief, be more cautious next time," Fox said.

"Seriously, I can't believe that you actually thought of that stranger as your father, I have plenty of things I wanted to add but, I don't really want to make things awkward so I'll stop here," Yatsuhashi said with a sigh.

"Thanks, Yats, anyway anything happened while I'm unconscious?" Coco asked her friends.

"About that…" Velvet said meekly.

"What is it?" Coco's eyes narrowed.

"Wemighthaveamissionrightnow!" Velvet said the entire thing in one breath.

Coco opened her mouth a second later, she closed it again and after that, she groaned so hard that it would be classified as a growl. "Come on! We just finished a mission yesterday! We just got back! And you're telling me we already have another one?!"

"Yes." Velvet modded knowing exactly this is how her leader would react, honestly, she was also dissatisfied with this but she couldn't exactly refuse to know who requested the question.

"Can't we just say 'no' to this?" Coco asked almost pleadingly.

"Say that to Ms. Goodwitch, she's the one who issued the mission." Velvet said with a bitter expression.

Coco's expression looks like she swallowed something sour, there's no way she can say no to Ms. Goodwitch! 

"Nevermind then! Let's go!" Coco went out of the bed and rushed directly to the exit, however for a moment her eyes changed to the clock from before and it changed back to her original dark-brown eyes.

No one noticed, not even Coco herself.

After finding Ms. Goodwitch, Coco immediately greeted her with a grin, "Sup, Ms. G! Team CFVY is here at your service!"

She bowed a little, like those from medieval movies with kings and princesses.

Glynda stared at Coco for a moment before saying, "Seeing you acting like usual, I supposed you're alright."

Then her eyes narrowed a bit as she noticed something different about Coco's appearance. 

"Ms. Adel, you're not wearing your glasses today it seems…" 

"Wha..?!" Coco quickly touched her face and just realized that her sunglasses were missing! She knew that something was amiss; she didn't think that it was her sunglasses!

"Oh? You seemed unaware of the loss of your accessory." Glynda touched her glasses for a bit before shifting her gaze toward the rest of the team CFVY.

While Coco couldn't help but curse at her loss of sunglasses, she thought. 'It's that guy! I'm sure he took it!"

And she was right about it.

"So, as for your new mission…" Glynda started to explain the details of their mission.

But Coco's mind was wandering somewhere else.

Somewhere in Vale,

"I see, to make my daughter happy I need this mortal currency known as lien…" After he left Coco in the alley, he went around Vale to ask questions about how to make his daughter happy. Also, he didn't leave her unprotected, mind you, he would be a failure of a father if he can't protect his kin.

He already failed but at least he's trying.

Before leaving Coco, he actually left a knight inside her shadow whoever harms her physically it would come out and attack the enemy.

That's why he wasn't worried about leaving her, as he was confident that no one could harm her in this world as long as she had the knight inside her shadow.

Anyway, back to the topic of how to make his daughter happy, 9 out of 10 say that his daughter would be happy if she was given this mortal currency known as a lien.

If that's the case, he closed his eyes and used the power of creation, and started creating the highest valued lien, a moment later a mountain of lien appeared in front of him.

Looking at the mountain of lien in front of him, he muttered, "Maybe this is too little…"

If anyone could hear him right now, they stare at him in disbelief because this mountain of liens alone could rival the SDC's entire assets!

"I think I need to put this in a bank.." While he lacks common sense, he wasn't ignorant, he knows what a bank is!

Then he stored the mountain of liens inside his dimensional pocket and before he went to the nearest bank of vale, he wore the glasses that he borrowed from his daughter.

Will Coco be happy with daddy's gift? Fuck yeah, she will!

With that kind of money, she'll buy every fashion store for sure!
