End of the Tournament - The Rookie King

"I-I… S-Surrender…" James said in a hushed voice.

Even though James' voice was low, barely audible, everyone in the coliseum had their eyes on him and thus heard him.

Gasp!

The audience could not believe their ears as they stared at him with wide eyes. Dongmei, sitting beside him, blinked her eyes twice, not expecting her boyfriend to surrender without fighting.

"James… What did you say?" one of the teachers asked, still in disbelief.

Looking at the stunned expressions on the various teachers' faces, James wanted to cry, but there were no tears in his eyes. He knew his decision might come back to bite him, but just the thought of fighting that demon scared the hell out of him.

'As long as I work very hard, I can still redeem my lost prestige,' he muttered in his heart, burning with determination.

Thus, he raised his head proudly, throwing all the shame to the back of his mind.
