It was dark.

I couldn't move my limbs at all.

It felt as if my body was submerged under an endless dark sea.

It felt suffocating yet at the same time it felt...calm and cold.

Almost serene.

A sudden feeling graced the back of my head, It felt warm and soft.

My eyes eventually lost their heavynes as I could finally open my eyes.

She gently smiled at me as she raised her hand. She brought both fingers straight to my face.

Realizing that she was going to poke my eyes out I quickly turned my head, narrowly avoiding my eyes getting poked out.

'Like I thought' I don't feel scared, my body stiffens each time I come into contact with a girl, especially when me and mom go to the village. There's a few ladies that have tried to touch my cheeks because of how cute I am but I instinctively dodge their hands.

I was quite sad that I had to leave, I was already making myself at home in her lap.

Everything whent black once again as I felt someone shake me.

I grogly opened my eyes as mom was there looking at me "Wake up sweetheart, were leaving today" she told me as she went to Art's bed to wake him up

By the way a week has already passed Md we are already prepared to go to Xyrus. But Dad said that his and moms old adventure buddies were close by and that we would travel with them.

I was surprised but I touched my ear lobe. To my surprise there was an earing on each of my ears. I felt then up as I made out their shape, it was a skull.

Not surprising considering that the kimono she wears has a giant ass skull on the front.

But that doesn't explain why she can transform into earnings, no Zanpakutō should be able to do so unless it is it's Shikai or Bankai form.

'I don't know either but I can hide my Zanpakutō form into earnings, rather convenient' I heard her speak to me again.

Of that's the case then there's only one person that couldn have done this.

I quietly gave a prayer of gratitude to him as I got off my bed and got changed into my traveling clothes.

'by the way Kyokotsu, have you ever heard of th sould society?'

That confirms it, she doesn't know about my past life. Thats good, I didn't want her knowing about 'you know what'. She probably only knows about the me if this life.

A/N: in the manga Katen Kyokotsu was two separate Zanpakutō spirits but it was because shusui split his Zanpakutō spirit into two to hide nanaoa's Zanpakutō. So basically she does have two eyes because she never split herself in the first place with the MC and there was no need to because Kyokotsu was a single spirit to begin with.
