I Farm Demons : Unholy Necromancer In the Apocalypse

In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by war with demonic forces, civilization as it once existed is all but gone.  In its place, a new order had emerged, with humans developing magical abilities as each generation passed.  To ensure the survival of their species, society had been divided into Circles, with each member guaranteed a specific job once they reached the age of eighteen. Xylon Sinclair was an orphan with a limited affinity for magic, and he had been reincarnated as a punishment for his past deeds.  In a former life, he was Zephyr, a powerful demon who served the mighty Balthyrov, the Lord of Demons, until he became a perceived threat. He got killed mercilessly and got forced to reincarnate as a fragile human being as a punishment. Upon reaching the age of eighteen, Xylon was told that he will become a Soul Keeper, a role that he knew nothing about. Despite his confusion, he had no choice but to accept this position.  However, rather than following the status quo, Xylon experimented with the system, using his formal knowledge about the demon realm to resurrect demons from thousands of years ago.  What had started as a mere curiosity soon turned into an obsession for Xylon.  He was fascinated by the power that he could wield by bringing the ancient demons back from the dead.  It was as if he had discovered a new realm of possibilities that he had never imagined before. And then, he started to dream bigger... Xylon Sinclair wanted to rule over both realms, human and demon realm... //////////////// For those who wanted to contact me, here is my discord : Yoonaas#3976 p.s: the cover is purely mine , and it is made solely for this webnovel, it shows Zephyr. Thr basilisk

The basilisk was of colossal size, but its true form in the demonic world made the current version seem minuscule in comparison. Xylon surveyed his surroundings and noticed an eerie stillness that was abnormal for any place, let alone a maze.

To his dismay, Xylon realized that Deric was no longer by his side. He was now facing the basilisk all alone.

"That bastard left me with it " He spat on the ground .

Xylon suspected that this was one of Deric's tactics to progress further in the maze, but he just decided to focus on the giant beast before him.

Xylon knew that gazing into the basilisk's eyes would render him powerless, as these serpentine creatures possessed the ability to immobilize their prey with just one glance.

While Xylon's former self, Zephyr, would have been unbothered by such a challenge, he was now acutely aware of his new human limitations.

In the face of the monstrous beast, Xylon knew that he would need to be extra cautious and measured in his actions. He couldn't let his guard down, not even for a moment.

As he stared down the basilisk, Xylon marveled at the intricacies of its scales, and the way its body moved with such graceful ease.

Yet, despite the creature's undeniable beauty, Xylon was acutely aware of its deadly potential.

Xylon struggled immensely in his fight against the basilisk, as he found it  difficult to avoid looking into the creature's eyes.

Despite his best efforts, all he managed to achieve were a few minor scratches on the basilisk's body.

He knew that his human body was already weak, and he was too tired to continue with this fight any longer.

It was time to try something different.

Without hesitation, Xylon closed his eyes tightly, shutting out all external distractions. He focused all of his attention on the sound of the basilisk moving around him, letting it guide his movements.

Though it was risky, Xylon  avoided the basilisk's gaze and used his other senses to defeat the serpent.

He managed to avoid the basilisk's venomous fangs and numerous attacks, dodging and weaving his way around the creature.

Xylon's instincts and quick reflexes proved to be valuable assets in the fight, allowing him to take advantage of every opportunity that presented itself.

Eventually, Xylon saw an opening and lunged forward, jumping onto the basilisk's back. With a swift motion, he severed the serpent's tail, causing it to turn around and attack him more ferociously than before.

"As I thought...this is really shitty. The basilisk was nothing like its corrupted counterpart in this world."

This was not how snakes were meant to be, and he knew that he had to be cautious in his approach.

While others might aim for the basilisk's head, Xylon recognized the serpent's point of weakness and exploited it to his advantage.

"What was I thinking?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head in frustration.

"This version of the basilisk is made by humans, and of course, it will have the normal weaknesses that humans think." He couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment.

The demonic world was supposed to be full of danger and unpredictability, not cheap knock-offs of mythical creatures.

As he pondered his next move, Xylon noticed something odd about the basilisk's tail.

It was covered in strange markings and symbols, unlike anything he had ever seen before.

He felt a sudden urge to investigate further, to uncover the truth behind this corrupted creature.

Summoning all his courage, Xylon moved closer to the basilisk's tail. He examined the strange markings, tracing them with his fingers, trying to decipher their meaning. Suddenly, he heard a strange noise, like the sound of shifting sand.

He spun around, ready for a fight, but there was nothing there. Just the empty, silent maze.

Xylon shook his head, dismissing the strange sound as his imagination. He focused once again on the basilisk's tail, to uncover its secrets.

But as he studied the markings, something shifted within the creature's body. Suddenly, the basilisk's head shot up, its eyes blazing with fury.

Xylon reacted quickly, leaping onto the basilisk's head and driving his weapon deep into its skull.

The creature writhed in agony, thrashing wildly as it tried to throw him off. But Xylon held firm, channeling all his strength and skill into one final, fatal blow.

As the basilisk's body slumped to the ground, Xylon felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him.

He took a deep breath and readied himself for the next challenge, ready to face whatever lay ahead with determination and courage.

"Those markings," he muttered to himself, his mind racing with possibilities. "I have seen them before...I know I did...but where?"

He racked his brain, trying to recall any previous encounters with similar symbols or markings.

He closed his eyes and focused, drawing on his memories and experiences of the demonic world.

" The teacher didn't say anything about time but …I have to go further…Deric is long gone " he said as he decided to run further in the maze .

However, Xylon watched in disbelief as the basilisk's twisted, contorted body began to writhe and twitch once again.

But this time, it wasn't the creature trying to escape its own body - it was something else entirely.

As he looked , a figure began to emerge from the mangled, grotesque form of the basilisk.

It was a person, covered in blood and gore, with wild, feral eyes that glinted in the dim light of the chamber.

Xylon could feel his heart pounding in his chest as the person stumbled towards him, their movements erratic and uncoordinated. He had no idea who or what they were, but he knew one thing for sure - he saved them when he killed the basilisk.
