Xian was standing there and waiting for whatever Alastor was going to do to him, but even then, he was not prepared for what was about to happen to him.
The hand touching his spine was cold despite the insane temperature in the place they were in. However, as soon as those fingers dug deep into his back, the flaming sensation was not something he could withstand.
The next thing he knew, the gemstone that was dug out from his back was forced again into his body.
As if pulling the gemstone was not painful enough, the pain from this action left him falling on the floor.
His chest suddenly tightened as the burning sensation surged through his veins and flesh.
A soft noise of agony escaped past his lips, and the hazy memory of signing the contract resurfaced. He clawed his bloody palms before helplessly groaning in pain.
