This time the point of view was Goddess', as Morrigan walked away for another day of training, she stretched subtly, entering the house lost in thought. "Perhaps, I can start over from scratch, that will be good, to return to practicing magic..." she thought slowly preparing to leave. On that day, Goddess was extremely happy; she could finally return to her activities.
Magic in Runegard, like Aura, was a separate power. Each being in Runegard had a different essence: they either ignited the essence of Aura or their souls, an ignited soul meant that being was capable of mastering the powers known as Hex.
Goddess knew the basics of these abilities and was willing to learn them again little by little; in this regard, she was quite experienced. In all the worlds she had reincarnated into, she had used the magic of the universe; Runegard wouldn't cause her any difficulties.
Little did she know that it would indeed...
At that moment, she chose something to wear, still looking over the body she had received. She was a woman of 1000 years in a young body again. The body had been chosen quite well; it was the way she liked it, not drawing too much attention and with a beautiful face. The biggest problem was the voice, which was a bit more mature than the teenager that body was supposed to have.
The chosen outfit was a white men's shirt with some leather on the shoulders and waist. She actually ended up resembling Morrigan, with masculine clothes. All this dressing up happened when she decided to steal Morrigan's clothes to wear. "I'll leave all my scent on his clothes; he'll never let go... Uaahahaha!" she laughed wickedly while sniffing Morrigan's shirts sitting on the bed.
After being deeply fond of a mortal after so long, she threw herself on the bed, deeply hurt. Goddess wasn't coping well with so many emotions. "Why is it so hard? Why does he have to be so calm about everything? Why is he so nice to me?" She tossed and turned in bed, what Morrigan didn't know was that Goddess hadn't felt the way humans do for many years. Despite her ability to perfectly control what she felt, it was extremely difficult for a goddess to finally feel human touch and warmth.
Gods were made of pure energy and an ideal; now she was human. Her heart raced; she felt anxiety, and Morrigan's face wouldn't leave her mind for anything. What had made her like him so much? "He must be a witch, it's not possible. The Rune of Time bewitched me with this boy... I hate everything about him. Everything, that way of speaking, the broad shoulders. I hate everything, everything!!" She pounded on the bed in the midst of her anxiety and excitement, but as she put the shirt over her face to wipe away the tears, she simply smelled Morrigan's scent and threw the shirt away. "Enough. I need to distract myself; otherwise, he'll notice. I have an image to maintain."
She thought, getting up, cleaning herself in the bathroom, grabbing a bag she had bought on the first day, she then decided to go out. "I'll make an effort; that way, I'll become strong enough to maintain my composure. These feelings aren't of a goddess; they're of a mortal," she affirmed to herself, and leaving the place, she locked everything, leaving the house in darkness, heading towards Master Delial's chapel.
From where they were living to the place, it took about 30 to 40 minutes of walking, depending on the person's walking speed. Goddess, for her part, took 40 minutes because she stopped to look at everything, curious and happy to feel everything alive again. When she arrived, she found the place open, having some sort of service, but it wasn't Delial preaching; it was some young clerics, very excited, teaching some children and young people.
She then walked around the side of the place, seeing Delial watering a garden of plants, waving to him. The old Delial in ordinary clothes instead of cleric robes waved back at her naturally. As she approached, he said, "Are you having crises, miss?" She then answered, startled, "Y-yes, I'm having problems. Reincarnating wasn't as easy for me as it was for Morrigan. He came with a lot more in his favor than against. I lost all my powers..." Goddess affirmed, while the cleric chuckled a little. "But you gained a life to live!" Goddess was struck by those words; she hadn't realized it that way, lowering her head, she reflected on it.
"I don't know how to think, how to act. I wish I could choose more things, wish I could make decisions like he does, always firm, without fear... But I don't know where to start. I want to learn to use magic again..." Delial shook his head negatively as she spoke. "In Runegard, magic will drive you to madness. You must learn to control divine powers... Divine Magic, which is your origin... Goddess," he said her name, impressing her again; Master Delial was an impressive old man.
"Can you help me with that, Master Delial?" the goddess asked anxiously, holding onto the handle of her bag, twiddling it back and forth. Goddess had a habit of scratching her toes against each other when she got nervous. "I can... But do you think it will do you good? You've strayed from this path and gained the chance not to take it again... Is that what you want?" he asked her, making her reflect, lowering her head, thinking about how her life with Morrigan was, but unlike Morrigan, Goddess was very superficial and could hardly empathize. There was a very shallow limit to her empathy for Morrigan.
"Yes, I do..." She said this still a bit suspicious, but it was the answer she had at that moment. Master Delial then seemed to slowly raise his head, looking at the chapel. "I will teach you to awaken your soul, and when you have time, come to my chapel; you can learn everything I can teach, like a cleric..." he then gestured for her to follow him to a darker part of the garden. In that dark part, there were some closed roses that received a limited amount of sun per day, or they could die.
"In order for you to awaken your soul, you must be able to bring things to life. Divine Magic is your Soul, for Someone, Hex Magic is your Soul for Something. When you can devote yourself spiritually to someone with the intention of caring for them, protecting them, helping them, you will be able to master Divine Magic."
She then timidly approached the roses, squatting down she put her hands over the closed rose, and Master Delial continued, "You must be able to make one of these flowers bloom if you awaken the Soul." Goddess then closed her eyes as she said, "I am more than capable..." she then channeled her spirit, took a deep breath, she knew this whole process, thinking about everything around, the force of nature, the sound of children laughing, the sound of objects coming and going, carts, horses, birds passing by, she began to shine her hands in a yellowish tone, and the plant began to change, growing and slowly opening.
Delial then said, "Now, surrender yourself..." she then began to think of Morrigan slowly, the conversations and sounds she heard near him, and with him, all the happiness, made the rose bloom completely, Goddess was surrounded by a golden glow on her body, which slowly faded... "So, is this Divine Magic?" she asked, while Master Delial affirmed positively.
"You are capable of using it, thanks to your past, it should be easy... But don't take this as compliments, there is much to be said about your Soul, so I hope that in the coming days you will come here at the same time; we will train your Soul... Today, I will pass a simple lesson..."
All of Master Delial's training after that was about how the Soul should be used for others, Goddess listened politely, although she didn't care. The whole day passed quickly for Goddess, who had enjoyed every bit...
However, as she left Master Delial's presence, due to a powerful approaching rain, he looked at the rose opened by Goddess, completely wilted and dried up.
"So it will be, the one for whom you surrender... Goddess..." he said alone, watching Goddess running towards her house, after all the training, worried about Morrigan...
