Hannah and Stephanie left the restaurant and got into their car, while they were on the way to meet Katherine at her new apartment, Hannah asked Stephanie"Do you think she will agree?"

Katherine was leisurely reading a book when she heard the door buzz, she went and opened the door for her friends and the girls were happy to see each other because Katherine was on a trip because of a fashion that she had in a different country and she just came back yesterday.

"Did you guys have lunch? I can cook something for you" Katherine offered, she was very excited to meet with the girls and chat about all kinds of stuff, really missed them

"No, we just had lunch at a restaurant with Tom before we came here" answered Hannah carefully, although they wanted to talk to Katherine and give her a heads up about the proposal so that she wouldn't be put in a tight place at her birthday party in front of so many people, they didn't want to ruin the surprise party that they have been planning for days.

Katherine pouted her beautiful lips and said "you guys hanged out without me? I was looking to see the three of you but I guess I was the only one who missed you, Tom called him yesterday when I arrived but he didn't even come to see me saying that he was busy." Katherine had a sullen look on her face

"Of course, we missed you too Kath, tom asked us to meet him at the restaurant because he wanted our advise and support regarding something" Stephanie replied while standing up from her couch to go sit right next to Katherine.

"What is it? Why didn't he invite me then?" Katherine was sulking because her friends left her out this time.

Hannah also stood up from her seat and sat down at the other side of Katherine so that Katherine was now sitting in between them, she looked at Katherine and carefully uttered "Tom plans on proposing to you Kath, that's why he didn't invite you to join us, he wanted our advice. "

Katherine felt her blood drain from her face, what she had been dreading had finally come. Katherine didn't want Tom to confess his feelings to her let alone propose to her, she was aware of his feelings towards her but she pretended not to know because she only saw him as a friend and nothing more.

Yes Tom was handsome and kind to Katherine, but his looks don't come anywhere near the perfect looking man that she fell in love with a year ago, Katherine wasn't shallow to fall in love with a man just because of their looks, but there was something different about that man that she couldn't help but fall in love with, there was something about the way he carried himself and those eyes, she could forget the mixture of coldness, longing, loneliness and a spark of light that she saw in his eyes.

She wanted to embrace him and tell him it was going to be alright, she wanted to comfort him with her warmth, she wanted to know more about him, to sit down and talk to each other about anything and everything, she wanted to set ablaze that spark of light that she saw in his eyes in such a way that it would lighten up his entire being. Katherine felt a painful prick in her heart knowing that she might never see that man again.

Katherine snapped out of her daze when Stephanie gently put her hand on her shoulder and said "what do you think about being with Tom Kath? I mean he's good-looking and kind, I don't see any reason to reject him, he's been by your side and you guys already know each other well. "

"I know Tom is a good man but you guys already know that I have strong feelings for somebody else, I don't want to marry Tom when I don't love him" Katherine reasoned

"I really appreciate all that you have done for me guys, I know you only want me to be happy. After giving it some though I have decided to accept Tom's proposal, I will marry him if he agrees to my condition that for the first three months we would not consummate out marriage and during these three months I want to us to get to know each other more and perhaps I would develop feelings for him, but if it doesn't work then we would divorce because our marriage would not be a successful one if only one person is in love. "

The girls were more than happy to hear Katherine's decision, they hugged her excitedly "To the beginning of Katherine's happiness" the girls cheered
