"Only the peak Whitebeard is worth my all-out effort!" Finn declared confidently.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Marco froze.
"Healing Dad just to fight the peak version of him?" Marco thought. "What an arrogant person!"
"Boy, Finn! Your reasoning truly shocks me!" Whitebeard responded, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Do you think the old man standing before you isn't worthy of being your opponent?"
"Well, yes," Finn answered bluntly, his voice unwavering.
Whitebeard rolled his eyes and pointed at Finn with his mighty Cong Yunqie. "Boy, empty words are meaningless! Only through battle will you truly understand!"
"No, if you're not going to fight me at your peak, then I'll leave!" Finn said, turning as if to walk away.
"Wait!" Marco shouted, halting Finn in his tracks. He turned to Whitebeard. "Dad! You've suffered from old injuries for years. You've endured pain year after year, had to get fluids constantly... Now, you have the chance to cure it all. Why not let him try?"
Whitebeard chuckled, shaking his head. "Gu la la la, Marco, it's not worth spending 3 billion to treat an old man like me."
"But Dad!" Marco protested, his voice full of emotion. "In our eyes, how could 3 billion Baileys compare to your health?"
"Yes, Dad! We don't care about money. We care about your health!" another crew member shouted.
"Father, please take care of yourself. Only if you're healthy can you protect us better!" another pleaded.
"Forget the 3 billion! If we need to use all our savings to save you, we'll do it!" another added passionately.
"Father, please! Just listen to your sons for once!" they all chorused.
Finn, standing nearby, secretly enjoyed the moment.
"Ha, what a group of sons," he mused. "On the surface, they're so filial to Whitebeard, but they're also helping me."
Without their persuasion, Whitebeard might have refused to part with the money. But now, Finn's reward was drawing near.
Whitebeard, who valued the feelings of his sons deeply, would likely agree to the treatment now that they had all insisted. Finn knew he just needed to let them continue.
As expected, Whitebeard looked at his sons, shaking his head in mock annoyance. "You all get up. Dad's not going to waste this money on an old man like me."
"Father! If you don't agree, we won't get up!" Marco yelled.
"Yes! We won't get up either!" another shouted.
"Come on, Dad!" the rest chimed in.
After a long pause, Whitebeard sighed heavily. "You... you stupid sons! Fine, the old man will listen to you this time."
When Whitebeard agreed, the entire Whitebeard Pirates crew erupted in cheers.
"Boy Finn! I promise you," Whitebeard called to Finn. "Come, treat me."
"Good!" Finn nodded, his face calm, though inside he was elated.
The rewards were almost within reach.
Finn approached Whitebeard and said, "Lie down on the ground."
"On the ground?" Whitebeard's mouth twitched. "That pose feels a bit strange..."
"Why are you still standing? How can I treat you if you don't lie down?" Finn pressed.
At that moment, Diamond Joz stepped forward. "Boy! If you can cure Dad's ailments, we'll gladly pay you. But how can we trust you won't take advantage of him?"
"Guarantee?" Finn frowned slightly, pondering. "I originally wanted to say, 'If I fail, you can kill me...'"
He paused before shrugging. "But honestly, even if I did try to trick Whitebeard, you captains couldn't do a thing about it. So, I can't offer a guarantee."
Finn spread his hands innocently. "But you can rest assured, I always keep my word. If I say I'll treat him, I will."
"No! When have you ever kept your word?" someone shouted.
"You just broke your promise to Dad!" another added.
"Exactly! Stop lying!" a third protested.
The room erupted in laughter and disbelief at Finn's audacity.
Finn looked at them with feigned confusion. "You must have misremembered! I, Finn, am the commander of the Marine Independent Battalion! I've always kept my promises—every word counts!"
The room went silent as everyone stared at Finn in disbelief.
Whitebeard chuckled. "Boy Finn, even though you just broke your promise, I'm still willing to trust you this time. My instincts tell me you won't break it now."
Finn grinned. "See? That's the kind of broad chest Whitebeard has! You guys are just sons, but he's a father with such dignity!"
The crew seethed, unable to refute Finn's words without undermining their father.
Finn continued, patting his chest dramatically, "Admit your mistakes, and you'll still be a good son!"
Whitebeard laughed heartily. "Gu la la! Finn boy, hurry up with the treatment. I can't wait to see if you're really as skilled as you say!"
"Alright, let's get started!" Finn said.
Someone quickly brought out a recliner for Whitebeard to lie on. Once settled, Finn placed his hand on Whitebeard's back.
"Medical Ninjutsu Endoscope!" Finn whispered.
A powerful surge of chakra flowed into Whitebeard's body, seeking out every hidden injury and disease.
Half an hour later, Finn located all the ailments.
"Medical Ninjutsu—Super Rejuvenation!" he declared.
Chakra energy, even more powerful than before, surged into Whitebeard's body like a flood of life.
Whitebeard's eyes shot open, and he felt more alive than ever before!
