"Hello, my lady." Yvonne came from behind Irene and greeted me with a slight but polite bow.
She kept a straight face, the look in her eyes didn't even waver at my intense stare.
Her expression was so indifferent that one would think that she's Accorsa's real sister, Accorsa probably show more expression that her.
"Hello." I greeted back with a smile, but that was it. Neither of us uttered another word, we both stared at each other. I stared at her with intrigue, while she stared at me with apathy.
"Ahem." Probably noticing the weird atmosphere between us, Irene cleared her throat and asked, "Lady Tatiana, would you like to have your breakfast in your room?"
I understood why Irene called me so formally, it was because Irene was always the type who tend to treat you according to your title as long as you both are in public or in the presence of another.
"Yes." I replied. I didn't want to face Accorsa after I had stained her clothes with tears and embarrassed myself by crying like a child.
I faked a cough and turned to the other side so as to hide my face that had turned red from embarrassment.
Really. How embarrassing.
Irene left the room, leaving me and Yvonne alone in the room.
The nine years old pink-haired was still standing upright with a straight look.
She was the polar opposite of her happy-go-lucky sister but her beauty couldn't be denied, she was definitely Irene's sister.
It would be best to form a good relationship with her now. Since I need a lot of allies to be able to survive the novel plots.
Yvonne's character was also a side character but she appeared in the second part of the novel a few times. She helped the female lead to successfully pass some obstacles and she did that by becoming a knight of the palace, that way she became a superior in the knight's order and collected confidential information that could help the Blithwine's dukedom.
I'm sorry, Yvonne but I have to steal your role.
I can't become a knight because I have to go back home but I'll try to get to the palace. But how?
The current emperor was still quite young, twenty five years of age to be exact, he wasn't actually the first prince, second or third. Emperor Agmund Darius de Pelonia was actually the seventh and last prince of the empire but just like every empire with a lot of princes, Prince Agmund became emperor after the rest of his brothers killed each other.
The seventh prince was a very tyrannic ruler, a man who valued his sword than the support of men.
He was good to his people but wouldn't hesitate to unsheathe his sword and cut down any opposition.
But he was quite apathetic to the matters of the nobles. An emperor could easily choose the duke of a dukedom or support someone to help them take up the position, but this emperor was particularly interested in watching people struggle and fight for power.
I still wonder how Yvonne got the confidential information that was shared only between the emperor and his ministers.
The pink-haired girl was truly mysterious.
Irene came back with breakfast and left right after, but Yvonne was still standing at the side.
"Emm... Would you like to join me?" I asked her.
"Okay, if the lady insists." Yvonne said and sat at the chair opposite me, she served the dishes for both of us, while I stared at her with wide eyes.
I mean, wait! Which lady insisted? I only asked her to join me for the sake of courtesy.
Yvonne didn't even hesitate to dig in.
"How old are you, Yvonne?" I asked.
"You shouldn't talk while eating, my lady."
Damn!!
How crude...
I decided to keep shut and eat.
"Do you want chocolate muffins?" Yvonne suddenly asked out of the blue.
"What?"
"Would you like some chocolate muffins?" She repeated.
Chocolate muffins.
Hehehe.
My head spinned and my mouth watered.
I saw myself hopping happily in a beautiful flower field with a lot of chocolate muffins... hehehe.
SNAP OUT OF IT!!!
I quickly wiped the drool from my mouth, I wanted to resist but what could possibly go wrong.
"Yes." I replied.
"Perfect." Yvonne smiled, she finally displayed an expression on her face.
Oh my, she's so beautiful!!
Yvonne immediately stood up and dragged me by my hand.
Huh? Wait, my food!!
I turned back to the food that I was gradually leaving behind.
Yvonne ran while dragging me along with her, we ran and from time to time we hid from the maids.
It wasn't long before we got to our destination, I was already out of breath and I panted really hard.
Yvonne peeked out from our hiding spot and slowly walked on her tiptoe to a bowl that was properly covered with a tight lid.
Yvonne knew almost every part of the duchy because she had her holidays here sometimes.
I quickly followed her steps, she grabbed the bowl and we both returned to our hiding spot.
Yvonne opened the lip gently and... Oh my, the aroma of strawberry and chocolate cake filled the air.
-Yum yum.
The drool I had managed to hold back earlier finally seeped out, I and Yvonne quickly stuffed our mouths with muffins.
Hahahahaha, this is heaven.
"Athena, did you see the bowl of desserts I left here?" A voice jolted us out of our happy eating.
Our eyes widened, I took all the muffins I could carry and wrapped them in my dress.
Yvonne peeked one more time before dragging me by the hand again.
"Hey!" The maid screamed from behind us.
"Hahaha."
"Hahahaha."
I and Yvonne laughed as we quickly escaped from the kitchen. For a moment, I looked behind us but I suddenly collided with someone.
I turned to see who I collided with and it was Yvonne, in front of her stood Irene with a stern face.
She sighed.
"Why are you stealing desserts again, and this time with the lady?" Irene asked in a stern voice.
Oh Oh, what's going on here?
Yvonne had her head down, her eyes darted around on the floor.
Irene sighed and held her hand. She turned to me and said,
"My lady, you shouldn't run around and you shouldn't eat too much desserts. I'll send a maid to take you back to your room and wash you up."
After saying that, she left with Yvonne.
Eh? What just happened?
I looked down at the desserts that were still properly hidden and wrapped in my dress.
Great...
What to do? Should I just wait here or find my way?
The latter was better.
So, I started walking to God knows where.
