Chapter 57 Investigation Room

Victoria was now inside a dark room with a single yellow light above, and in front of her was a small wooden table. Across the table stood a short Asian-looking man with a name tag on his uniform that read, 'Sergeant Ma Qiang'.

The whole room was sealed with extremely hard glass, allowing only those outside to see what was happening inside. By now, anyone could guess this was an interrogation chamber.

After Victoria opened her door, the bulky, gorilla-like women brought her here without giving her a chance to ask questions. So now she was sitting in her chair with a bored expression, not knowing what to do since they hadn't asked any questions yet.

But just then, a part of the glass wall, which had appeared to have no door, opened, creating a doorway. One of the bulky women who had brought Victoria entered, carrying a large object covered in some kind of black cloth.

She hurriedly walked to the sergeant and put the object on the table. Then she stood at attention and saluted the Sergeant, "Private Ima Pigg reporting, Sergeant. I have brought the item as requested."

Hearing her name, Victoria almost chuckled out loud but managed to hold it in.

Ima Pigg noticed her reaction and was quite angry, as her name and appearance were sensitive topics for her. She got angry whenever someone made fun of her for this. If the sergeant were not present, she would have put this pretty girl in her place.

"Thank you, Private. You may be dismissed," Sergeant Ma Qiang said with a gentle smile, which he rarely showed to anyone.

Seeing that smile, Ima Pigg's anger immediately vanished and was replaced with a strong sense of affection. Anyone could tell she had a crush on the sergeant, and even the sergeant quite liked her.

'Oh my goodness, how can someone be so gentle? He is the best… I love him so much…' Ima Pigg thought, her face now completely flustered.

After she left, the doorway behind her automatically closed, making it appear as if there had never been a door.

"We will know soon enough…" Sergeant Ma Qiang replied with a cold look. He then removed the cloth covering the machine, revealing an old box computer with various wires. A few were connected to white round stickers, and one was attached to a helmet.

"Wear these stickers around your neck and put this helmet on your head," Sergeant Ma Qiang ordered with an authoritative tone.

"What is this?" Victoria asked, a little scared, as it looked like some kind of torture machine.

"Sigh... This is a truth detector, not a torture machine. It detects whether you're lying or not, but it's not an ordinary truth detector that can be bypassed with abilities. It's completely new and one of my best creations—completely immune to any kind of ability," Sergeant Ma Qiang explained with a proud look on his face.

Hearing his response, Victoria realized that what he said was true. Truth be told, even if she wanted to cheat, she couldn't, as she was neither a tech girl nor was her ability related to it. So with this thought, Victoria hesitantly put on the helmet and the stickers on her neck one by one.

"Beep… beep… beep…" the computer screen turned on, causing some beeping noise. Even though the screen was on, it was completely blank for some reason.

"Alright, student Victoria, now I will ask you a few questions, so try to answer them honestly, okay?" Sergeant Ma Qiang ordered with a cold look on his face. Victoria just nodded and tried to be as calm as possible since she didn't want to mess this up.

"So, student Victoria, what is your relationship with student Jin Wei?" Sergeant Ma Qiang asked as if he had asked something very serious. Victoria, on the other hand, was weirded out.

"Why does that matter to you?" Victoria asked with a bit of disgust, thinking this short Asian sergeant was interested in her.

"Sigh, don't worry, young girl. You are not my type. I like big muscular girls." Sergeant Ma Qiang replied with a perverted smile.

The more Victoria stayed with him, the more disgusted she became. But she knew that the only way she could get out of here was by answering all the questions truthfully, so she did just that.

"I am his girlfriend," Victoria replied as if it were something obvious.

She was not even a little embarrassed to tell others about their relationship, unlike most girls nowadays who hide their relationships in the hope of finding someone even better.

Victoria was not wrong to think that their relationship was obvious since almost all the students from her class and even students from other sections knew about their relationship. She didn't understand why he was asking such an obvious question.

"Beep… beep… beep…" the computer again began to make the weird noise.

"Okay, let's move on to the second question. Do you know where your boyfriend is right now?" Sergeant Ma Qiang asked with a serious expression.

"No," Victoria lied with a completely expressionless face, trying to see if this machine worked or not.
