Chapter 364: Inviting a Senior Chef
"Ji Yao, you're here."
He mustered a faint smile, greeted her softly, and chuckled.
"Yeah, I noticed you were holed up in your office all day, so I thought I'd just come and check on you."
Ji Yao spoke as if it were a casual remark, but someone's back tensed up.
Perhaps out of guilt, Lu Jincheng didn't turn around to look at her.
He was silent for a moment, giving himself a good excuse.
"I still have some work to do. Once I've sorted everything out here, I'll bring the documents out to you."
Again, he used the paperwork as an excuse, trying to cover up his unease.
But Ji Yao had already seen through him, and with a sigh,
deliberately moved closer to him, looking at his expressionless face, and asked knowingly,
"You don't seem to be in a good mood today."
Lu Jincheng's actions stalled, a flicker of discomfort crossed his face, and not wanting others to see, he quickly turned away.
"What, are you embarrassed now?"
