Two days passed in a flash, and today was the day that the Bardington Cup finally began. Mason had heard a lot about this competition at the Red Inn.
It was a competition held once every 5 years, and The Lion Tamala, Sir Wint, Sir Campbell, as well as the king of Bard, His Majesty Alexander Bard II, would all be present for the 5 days of competition.
This was basically the most famous tournament in the entire central continent as the most prestigious competition.
Today was the first day of the competition, however it was the preliminaries and therefore the king and his entourage would not be present today.
Therefore, all Mason needed to do was to win everything today and keep winning until he caught the attention of Sir Campbell, the best blacksmith in Bard, and most likely one of the top ten in the entire central continent.
"I would like to register for the combat division for those below the age of 20."
"Name?"
"Mason Gates."
"Age?"
"19."
"Proof of identity?"
"Here."
Mason handed over the identification his parents had gotten for him, when he was just born, through the church of the god of war, Ares.
Reading through the bronze coper bar stamped with the seal of the Church of War, along with the name and date of birth of Mason.
"Ok. Occupation?"
"Mage"
The receptionist's hand suddenly stopped, and many gazes fixated on Mason, who tried his best to remain unfazed, but was still put under some pressure from the intense gazes landing on him.
The receptionist looked up a Mason's face for a while before shrugging and writing it down while mumbling.
"I doubt you could be anything else. With one leg missing, normal combat would be useless."
Writing some more things on the paper, Mason went through the rest of the registration successfully, until the last part where she asked for his nickname.
Mason began to think, but just as he was about to speak, a notification popped up.

Instead of using your name as a nickname, chose a cooler name you idiot. Something other than the Great Mason!

Mason's face flushed red as he began to second guess his naming skills, which were praised by everyone in his town.
A few moments later, he had decided his name.
"Wind Bender"

Pathetic by the standards of this world…

'But not bad if you were on Earth. Sigh… that was truly a good cartoon.' Jack murmured to himself as he turned his concentration back towards his SPU, which at this point he was using as his own body to enjoy the world in first person instead of god mode.
Naturally, he could still sense everything from his players while controlling SPU, since his body was still a god.
It was like he was playing an RPG game in first person, while being able to look away for a while and the character would auto-run based on your decisions so far.
Today was also co-incidentally the day that King Ken had called for all the nobles in Cayden, and Jack wanted to be there to enjoy the moment his plans finally began taking fruition.
