Chapter 148 - Tanya Part 2

(Sorry, I forgot to upload yesterday coz work life is hectic af.)

It was just another day for Tanya. Managing the Familia in the absence of the God that never appeared and the Captain that is always missing except for crucial times.

Normally, she would complain. But in all honesty, because they are a rather small Familia with around two dozen members and only a handful active Adventurers. Her task isn't all that difficult or tedious. Mostly just recording their individual earnings to keep track of their Familia's tax which gets completed in minutes.

Sipping on her freshly brewed coffee, Tanya looked at her breakfast that had just arrived. It was just a simple breakfast of sausages, egg and toast.

"Thank you, Rem." Tanya nod and thanked the blue haired maid who answered with a simple bow before returning to the kitchen to bring out the rest for another that is about to arrive.

Then, a moment later. Sound of footsteps on the wooden stair alerted Tanya. She turned to the direction and saw the black haired man in tracksuit, Subaru, and the silver haired half-elf, Emilia. Both are still yawning and dragging their feets down the stairs.

"Oh… good morning, Tanya."

"Good morning…"

Emilia and Subaru greeted Tanya as they arrived at the table and about to take their seats.

"Good morning, you two. Also, go wash your faces first." Tanya ordered with a huff disdain.

Well, compared to her who lived in the military and lived a disciplined life. Subaru and Emilia simply cannot keep up with Tanya who is always awake at 5 am sharp and ready to prepare herself for the day by 6 am.

Few minutes later, Subaru and Emilia returned and together, everyone enjoyed their morning breakfast. Tanya finishes first as she is used to eating fast.

"So, are the two of you going to hunt monsters again today?" Tanya asked about Subaru's plan for the day with her eyes narrowed on both.

"Nah, I'm taking a day off. We had been hunting non-stop for the past four days and were utterly exhausted." Subaru shook his head while his exhaustion became even more apparent on his face. "Besides, we need to repair our worn out equipment too." He sighed even more before laying his head on the table tiredly while the half-elf beside him giggled.

"Ah, I need to restock my potions too." Emilia suddenly recalled that she almost used up the Mind Potion she last bought.

"Hmn. Since the two of you are going out. Why don't we go out together? I need to buy some things too." Tanya said specifically while looking at Emilia while her body shifting uncomfortably.

It's not hard for Emilia to notice Tanya's discomfort and immediately figure out the problem.

When Subaru and his group just arrived two months ago, Tanya's height was at a pitiful 125-130 cm. But due to Falna, repairing the damage caused by her early childhood malnutrition, she had reached the heights of 140 and she keeps growing for the past month which also affects the rest of her body.

Her old clothes had become too small to fit her new frame. Not even adjustmenting her clothes is possible anymore which causes her to constantly buy newer and larger clothes.

"Ah, I see." Emilia claps her hands the moment she understands Tanya's request and looks to Subaru.

Subaru however, didn't need to be told as he already figured out what is happening because this isn't the first time Tanya reached out for Emilia's help as one of the few permanent residents.

"It's fine, I just ask Rem to accompany me. Her flail needs some maintenance too." Subaru nodded and shrugged.

But hearing this made Emilia pouted slightly. After all, she is aware of what is happening between Subaru and Rem. Not that she is against it. But I'm just a little envious.

With that said and done.

Emilia and Tanya set off to the shopping district first to deal with Tanya's matter. While Subaru and Rem went to look for a blacksmith workshop to repair their equipment.

On the street, the presence of Tanya and Emilia caught many attention as eyes gazed at wherever they went. Tanya is already popular as mentioned before. But Emilia is due to her unique appearance, a Half-elf, an Elf nonetheless, with silver hair which was never seen before. However, no one dares to cause any commotion since their Familia is infamous due to a certain incident when Ray's Familia had just been established.

In the past, some bold high ranking Adventurers once bullied Sakura and tried to coerce her for some fun due to her beauty when she was out alone.

Sakura was never the one to escalate and her past trauma didn't help with the matter as she fearfully submitted to the Adventurer's request before following him into the alley.

But the moment they vanished into the alley, people heard a terrified and painful shriek which was silenced just moments before Sakura emerged from the alley as if nothing ever happened.

When someone went to investigate. They found the unfortunate Adventurer collapsed on the ground with his face twisted in horror. The only injury found on the unfortunate Adventurer was his castrated family jewel.

Mind you, the Adventurer was an infamous Level 4 while Sakura at that time was still a Level 1 on paper.

When the Adventurer went to seek justice from the Ganesha Familia, the attack from Sakura was ruled to be self-defense on Sakura's side considering the Adventurer's record of harassing other female Adventurers.

Even worse is the next day, the Adventurer was found dead on the lower floor by some passing by Adventurers. His death was ruled to be caused by monsters. But not everyone is stupid enough because his injury is definitely not caused by a monster since he was brutally maimed and tortured to the extent not even his mother could recognise anymore.

Since then, it's an unspoken rule to never cause trouble to that particular Familia, especially harassing their female members.

But it didn't seem like the case this time.

"Halt!" A congregation of Elves with angry faces suddenly stopped Tanya much to her surprise. But it seems there is a deeper reason to this than a simple conflict.
