Chapter – 28 The Angry Beast

The beast was waiting near the hole, and after a couple of minutes, some small beasts come out from the hole. Seeing them Max realized that they were looking the same as the beast from earlier who was talking to this beast. "It's like the other beast had made a deal to do something to his children." Max thought while keeping an eye on the rock-skin beast.

The rock-skin beast seeing those little beasts coming out from the hole backed off a little bit. Then after all six of them had come out, then the beast gets close to one of the little beasts and opened its mouth, and spit out a small drop of a green crystal in front of the beast, seeing the little crystal the little beast started licking it instantly and the rock-skin beast spit five more little crystals for other little beasts and they also started licking it.

"Is this small crystal some kind of nutrition for those beasts? I should get one of them to check what it is." Max was surprised to see this act from the rock-skin beast. "If it's the same beast it will be easy to kill it, I just need to get close to it and those little beasts will also give me some Exp." Max thought about what he had to do and see that all those little beasts' were focusing on the green crystal, Max disappeared from his location and appeared behind the rock-like beast but this time he didn't kill the beast in one strike. He just cut off his legs so he won't be able to run after all he wanted some of those green crystals for himself to see if he can gain anything from them.

Now the rock-skin beast wasn't able to do anything, seeing Max those little beasts were scared and they tried to run inside the hole but Max was faster than them and appeared in front of the hole blocking the path of those beasts. Seeing the scared look on those faces, Max was feeling like he is a villain to them.

Not knowing what to do those beasts started to make some noises, probably trying to call for their parents. Max doesn't want to face more than one beast at a time so without wasting any more time he killed all six of those little beasts.

"Huh? That's odd all of them only gave me 1 Exp." Max thought. Max was surprised cause' after looking for the beast crystal, he wasn't able to find a single one of them in any of those beasts. Surprised Max, he took the rock-skin beast with him and left all those bodies like that. As for those green crystals, Max was a little late and they were finished by the beasts before he could get them but he doesn't have to worry about that as he can get those crystals from this beast.

"Now that I have found you, it's time to find out more about your secret," Max said to the beast whom he had tied with the rope and dragged him to the ground. After some time when Max saw that he had gotten pretty far from the place where he had killed those beasts. He sat down on the ground and looked at the tied-up beast.

"I don't think this beast will understand what I want. Should I draw it or try to explain him through signs?" Max was thinking about how could he make the beast understand that he wanted the same green crystal that it had spitted out for those little beasts. Deciding that it will be best if he draw, Max started drawing on the ground, he made a beast that was holding a round ball in his mouth.

"Look do you understand what I want?" Max said to the beast and showed him the drawing on the ground. The beast was smart and he instantly understood what Max was trying to say through his drawings. Nodding to Max the beast again opened its mouth and spitted out the same green crystal.

Seeing that the beast had understood him and was giving him the crystal, Max was so happy that he was even thinking of releasing the beast after getting the crystal. The beast pushed the crystal at Max's side, picking up the crystal

[You have gained a Poisonous Crystal, it's dangerous to eat or absorb.]

After reading the description of the crystal from the system window, Max's expression changed from his happy self to an angry one. Looking back at the beast with a scary look, Max wanted to kill the beast right now, he threw the crystal to the ground. Seeing that Max didn't fall for his little trick, the beast was scared of Max and after receiving some punches from Max, it again spat out the green crystal. Max picked up the crystal and the system window showed up.

Reading the description this time, Max was pleased that the beast didn't trick him this time. "If you had given me this the first time you wouldn't have to go through this beating," Max said to the beast who was now lying on the ground in pain. The beast would have killed Max if he can understand what Max was saying, first Max had cut off his legs and now he had beaten him cause' he wanted those crystals.

After Max was done with the crystal, he come closer to the beast, he showed him the crystal in his one hand and put his other hand in front of the beast demanding more crystal. The beast understood and without any resistance he gave Max two more crystals. "Is this all you have got? Come on, spit out more. I know you're hiding them inside you or should I slice your body to get them myself?" Max started threatening the beast but he didn't understand anything.

Max was going to again beat the beat but he heard an angry roar from the direction he had come from. "Are the parents of those beasts back?" Max thought hearing the roar was a little intimidating but the tied-up beast was happy to hear that roar. "Look like our business has come to an end." Saying that to the beast. Max pulled out his sword and killed the beast and took out his Beast-crystal, when Max tried to look for more Green Crystals, he was surprised to find none there.

"Look like he had given me all of the Crystals that he had." Max thought while running in the opposite direction from the beast. "I don't know how strong they are so it's better to run away from them for now," Max said to himself while running through the forest, he was also using Dimensional Travel to get as far away as possible. He wasn't worried about getting tired, he can use those green crystals to restore his stamina if needed.

Suddenly Max stop his legs, he was looking at the beast that was in front of him now. It was the same beast that had made a deal with the rock-like beast earlier. "I didn't though that this beast will be this fast." Max was a little scared by the eyes of the beast cause' it was looking at him furiously.

"I don't think I'll be able to get ahead without fighting you." Saying that loud to the beast, Max started running toward beast. The beast was half in size compared to Max but its huge claws that were coming out of his hands and legs were scary to look at. The beast also started running toward Max but before both of them collided, a crack appeared in the middle and Max disappeared in it. The beast was confused about where had the human gone.

Not able to find Max the beast let out an angry roar and it run away to other places in hope of finding Max. But no matter where it will look it won't be able to find Max cause' Max hadn't used Dimensional Travel; he had stored himself in the space where he had stored his other items. Max was able to use this space after he had received the 'Healing potions' from the quest but he had never thought of storing himself in it. After being inside the space for an hour Max decide to get out of it and the moment he got out, he used Dimensional Travel to get away from this place. He didn't want the beast to come back at him again.
