Level Up!

Chapter – 24 Level Up!

After hearing Max explain, how he knows about Jack; Lucas and Francis realize when Max might have gotten here. Yesterday when Lucas had left everyone at the inn, he had gone out to look for Francis to get any information about the attack at his kingdom but to no avail, Francis wasn't able to get him anything related to that attack that had happened at the castle, then Francis had given a tour around the city to Lucas.

"So, when will Jack be back here?" Max asked, he was excited to get a new sword. With only a little interaction with Jack yesterday, Max had found that it was good to talk with jack, the way he talks about his work passionately, and how Jack had explained to him a lot of things about what things will be required to make a sword. "Everyone will be arriving here in some time. if you like you can wait or you can hand me over the materials, I'll give it to Jack and you can get your sword tomorrow." Hearing him Max found it a good idea, "I can give the advanced-tier crystal to him and I can go back to the inn to use the remaining crystals to level up" Max thought and handed over the advanced-tier crystal to Francis and he stored the crystal in a box nearby.

"Lucas, can I go back to the inn? My body feels heavy and I want to sleep." Max asked while his body was really tired and for sleep, it was a lie, so Lucas can agree to it. "I would have suggested you to sleep here but in some time when the shop will open there will be too much noise here and you won't be able to sleep" before Lucas could say anything Francis speak up. Hearing him, Max was thanking him in his mind cause' he had unintentionally helped him out. Lucas agreed to the Max and let him go back. Donny and Ron had decided to stay with Lucas.

Before Max could go out of the shop, Francis stopped him "Wait. Do you want any specific design on it or any kind of alteration on it?" Francis asked before Max could go back to the inn. "I don't know much about swords, it's just that I'm using a sword from the sword so I have decided to stick with it. I'll leave everything to Jack's Preferences" Max had no knowledge about the swords, he just wanted a better-quality sword for himself, with his current sword he can't do more damage to the beast and he had seen that in the forest when he was fighting the Advanced-tier beasts and for the Rare-tier beast it wasn't even making any scratch.

"If I want to hunt beasts in the future, I have to get a much better weapon than this Basic-tier sword" looking at his sword and thinking about a better weapon, he got reminded of the sword that Lucas was using to fight the beast. "I'm sure it was a higher-tier weapon, if I can get something like that in the future, I'll be able to kill the beasts with a single strike," Max thought while walking back to the inn. Everything was becoming exciting for him but without even him realizing he was slowly changing; he wasn't scared of beasts anymore.

"Finally, I can level up now." Looking at the inn in front of him Max said to himself, he directly rushed inside the inn and headed straight to his room.

After locking the door from inside Max sat on the bed and pulled out all the crystals from his bag and placed them in front of him. Six Basic-tier crystals were in front of him and he was excited to use all of them to gain Exp. from them. He picked one crystal and just like before the crystal disintegrated and was absorbed by Max and the system window appeared again.

[You have gained 3 Exp. from the basic-tier Crystal.]

I think it randomly gives me the amount of Exp. from 1 to 10 for a Basic-tier Beast. Seeing that he only needed 10 more Exp. to level up Max hastily absorbed the second, third and fourth crystals after the fourth crystal the Exp. bar was full and a new window had shown up other than the one that was showing he was getting Exp. from the crystal.

[You have gained 3 Exp. from the basic-tier Crystal.]

[You have gained 4 Exp. from the basic-tier Crystal.]

[You have gained 4 Exp. from the basic-tier Crystal.]

[You have Leveled up.]

[Congratulation on your first level up, a new skill will be given to you.]

[Your basic stats will be improved.]

[Max Morningstar]

[Level: 02 (1/100 EXP)]

[HP: 70/70]

[Strength: 5]

[Agility: 6]

[Endurance: 4]

Seeing all of his stats had improved by one, Max was happy and looking at the Exp. bar which was asking for double the Exp. from before was going to be trouble but he was confident that he will fill it sooner. "I still can't feel much difference compared to before should I go out and check out how much I have improved by leveling up?" Max thought about testing himself to see how much one stat in every attribute had improved his body. "Maybe, I'll check these improvements later. I Should sleep for some time".

While Max had gone to sleep, inside Francis's shop Jack had started working on a sword for Max. while Jack was working, the other two workers that Max had seen were repairing Donny and Ron's weapons. Inside the Room of Francis, Lucas and Francis were sitting and talking about something.

"Do you think this kid will be able to stop the war that's coming?" Francis questioned Lucas, he wasn't sure even though Lucas had told him about Max, he can't believe that a kid will be able to do something when the strongest person from every kingdom had become helpless overtime against the beasts.

"I know what you're thinking but if there's a chance that he will be able to stop everything I'm willing to give my life for that kid. Now that I have nothing to lose, helping him grow is all that matters to me." Lucas's tone had gone from sad to serious. Every time he remembers that he wasn't there when the castle was under attack, he blames himself for the lives that had been lost that day. Even if Lucas was there the outcome wouldn't have changed but still, he thinks that something might have gone differently if he was there.

"It's sad to hear about your kingdom, you have told me you guys had summoned two heroes, right? What happened to the other one? Is he safe or did he also die that day?" Francis had asked about Henry; Lucas remembers that Henry had left the castle before the attack so he was probably safe in another kingdom.

"That kid was cautious of everything, I'm sure he is alive. He had left to start his journey on his own and I can say there won't be a lot of people in the nearby kingdom, who can beat that kid." Hearing the praises for Henry, Francis wanted to meet that kid to see how good he was at fighting.

"You're going to stay here for some time or are you planning to move to the next city?" Looking at Lucas's expression Francis was sure he was thinking about going to the next city. But for what reason, nobody would know why his kingdom got attacked.

"I think I should stay here for some time, last night Max was able to fight the beasts without any trouble and I think he should hunt other beasts too. It will help him grow and facing different kinds of beasts will increase his chance of survival, knowing about the different kinds of beasts is also helpful nowadays." Lucas tells Francis what he is thinking to do for the next couple of days.

"It's great but don't push the kid too much." Hearing that Lucas is going to stay in the city for some time was a good thing for Lucas but knowing that Max is going to face beasts daily was going to be hard for that kid.

"You don't know Francis; these kids have huge potential in them; I haven't Max for a long time but he was able to learn everything quickly and now he was fighting like someone who had practiced for six months." Hearing this was quite surprising for Francis but he also knew that Max was carrying the ability of the past Hero. So, it was not that unexpected for him to grow up faster than others.

"It's good, the faster these kids grow the easier It will be for everyone fighting against the beasts. Think about the lives they will save when they will join the fight against the beasts." Talking about these Francis had forgotten about the third one and right now Lucas was thinking about the third one if he showed up and joined the other side it is going to be a disaster for humans.
