Chapter – 43 Escaping

Getting past the group of hunters Max had totally depleted his stamina, he was feeling so tired and out of his breath, that even taking one more step was becoming hard for me. "Wait, how could I forget about that thing, it would help me." Max thought as he took out a small green crystal out of his inventory and absorbed it to replenish his stamina, Max was lucky that he had one of these crystals left in his inventory. He had gotten those crystals from the Basic-tier beast in the Outer area and they were proving their usefulness now.

"I'll make sure to get more of these crystals from that beast." Max was feeling fully energized and the tiredness in his body has already left. If he had continued to get away in his current shape, the leader would have been able to catch up to him. While Max was running away from this place, on top of the tree the leader was feeling angry because of his own little mistake, only if he had taken the crystal with him after killing the first guy none of this would have ever happened. And now he doesn't even know who was the guy who stole the crystal in his presence.

Thinking that he might not have left too far away from this place, the leader started running towards the edge of the tree and took a jump from there, the tree top was too high from the ground if someone would throw a human from there, the chances of that person surviving that fall would be zero but this guy without any hesitation, he jumped from that height. He was falling to the ground at a high speed, the time they took to climb the tree was in hours but right now the time to get down from that was going to be in minutes.

Just before the leader was about to hit the ground, he used his weapons and shove them into the tree to slow him down. While he did that the other members were just shocked to watch that thing happen in front of them. "Did any of you let someone pass by to climb the tree or did you see someone getting out from here?" he questioned and one of the guys refused that they didn't let anyone pass them neither did they see someone leave from here, everyone else just nodded with the first guy. "Every single one of you is useless then." Finishing his sentence, he used his weapon to kill all of them.

"Whoever you were, you better not let me catch you!" the leader said it out loudly, while he walks past the dead bodies of his past group members or maybe he never considered them as his group. He took their weapons from their dead bodies hoping to make some profit after selling them. "I think, going after that person is going to be useless now. he was able to teleport himself so there's a chance that he might have already left this area. Curse you thief!" the leader was only able to curse at Max as he didn't see his face nor was, he able to catch him.

"I should recover my stamina here first before heading back, I am going to kill that thief in the most ruthless way possible. He had dared to steal from me, Marcus the merciless!" Marcuse was getting angrier the more he was thinking about that. From the beginning when he started hunting, he had always been brutal to the beasts and even when he had a fight with anyone, he used to break their bones for fun even when they had forfeited the fight, he would drag them on the ground slowly crushing their bones and ripping the flesh from their body.

Even the bystanders would be afraid to interfere in his fight to save the other guys. Compared to his usual self he was very kind to all of his group members as he had killed them in one strike rather than torturing them. "It would be best if I meet a lot of those damned beasts on my way, I'm going to take my anger out on them and it would be best if I encounter that guy." Marcus was hoping he could find Max but Max was already out of his reach now.

While Marcus was recovering his energy, Max was constantly running away he wasn't even looking back in fear that Marcus might be behind him and he was evading all the beasts on his way to not waste his time. After reaching the halfway point, Max stopped for a minute to look behind whether that guy was following him or not. "I better hurry if he catches up to me, I am not even sure I would be able to take one of his strikes," Max remembered how that guy was able to beat the King-tier beast without getting hurt at all. Finishing his short break Max continued his running to leave this place as soon as possible.

Finally, after some time Max was able to reach the point where he had first killed the monkey beast, the dead body of that beast was still lying there with the human corpse. Ignoring all of that Max started climbing down from the rocks to avoid fighting that guy. "Just a little more, Max, and you will be out of here." Max was comforting himself; Max's heart rate was really high from the moment he had stolen the King-tier Crystal and even now his heart was thumping loudly. The last time he had felt something similar was when the castle was under attack by that Legendary Beast and that time Max was feeling the same fear and nervousness that he was feeling now but to ease all of this thing, at least he had earned something good out of this, the King-tier crystal.

He can use that crystal to make himself a better weapon or if he wants to, he can use it to level up himself but wasting a King-tier crystal to level up wasn't worth it, so he decided to make a weapon out of this, and considering today's situation it would be best if he had a higher tier weapon on him. Then he would at least have a chance to hunt a higher tier beast in a group, otherwise what's the point of him having a higher level if he won't be able to hurt the beast because of his low tier weapon?

Marcus had fully recovered his energy and started to head back, while he took too long to recover his energy Max had left the area in the meantime. Now, if he even wants to go after him, he won't be able to catch him and he doesn't even know what that guy looked like other than that he was able to do teleportation he had no clue about him. It was going to be troublesome for him to look for someone with only that much information cause there was a chance that he might find someone with the same ability but he won't be the guy who stole the crystal from him.

"Should I head back to the city or go somewhere else to hunt? It was not like that guy was able to see me if I remember correctly, I was able to get out of there before he turned around then it is going to be fine, I think. I should go somewhere different to hunt." Max started heading in a different direction to go somewhere else to hunt. As there was still sometime before it will get dark, Max was also planning to head back to the Outer area, when he will head back to the city he was also going to hunt those rock-like beasts to get the Energy crystal out of them, if he had more of them with him, he wouldn't have to run for this long; he would have been able to use Dimensional Travel unlimitedly to get out of that place quickly.

"Just one or two beasts will be enough for today. And I'll head back after that." Max decides as he was getting close to the place where he can find some beasts easily. The place was nothing special it was just a random part of the middle area which was filled with the trees and bushes. It didn't take long for Max to find a beast that was looking for prey, it wasn't aware that while it was finding its prey; it was going to end up becoming someone else prey. "Found one already, it's like today's lady luck is on my side." Max was feeling happy and he attacked the beast while it was not aware of Max's presence.

Max had learned his lesson unless you don't know the ability of the beast, you're fighting you should always be cautious of them, and right now Max didn't know the beast so, he was fighting it in a defensive style, whenever the beast was attacking Max would be either dodging its attack or deflecting it by his sword. He was tiring out the beast to make it easier for him to hunt it, he had already seen that even a King-tier beast becomes tired after some time. He was also attacking the beast from time to time whenever he was dodging its attack, this time Max was refraining himself from using Dimensional Travel to avoid the beast's attack otherwise the fight would have ended already.

"I'm getting used to its pattern and now I'm able to tell when the beast is going to attack and when it will be dodging. I should drag the fight often to get this battle experience more often." Max thought as he was impressed how fighting regularly can improve his senses and perception.
