"Let's move, everyone!" When the morning star rose from the east, the Heavenly State turned its cogs once again, especially since this day was special; It was the final day of the Ark's completion!
The women and children were preparing for a feast while the men continued the final touches to The Ark. After decades of effort, Noah and the workers believed that this was it; the perfect Ark for Him.
They also had 50 years left before the prophesized arrival of God's Judgement, so they thought could still salvage a lot of sinners before that.
By noon, above the walls of the city, Noah and the leaders overlooked as the Ark slowly took shape. With his hand clasped behind his back, he covered his nervousness with his stern look.
"I wonder how that kid is doing." Lamech sighed. Thinking about Dawid, Noah's nervous thoughts drifted, also worrying about the kid. Years ago, Dawid had already began his quest of mastering his control over the blessing that was given to him. As it was from The Almighty itself, Noah expects Dawid's test to be harder than his.
"Lord Noah!" A man called up from below, interrupting his thoughts, "The Ark is finished!"
Noah nodded at him and sent him away. Behind him, the leaders stepped forward, their eyes gazing at the far distance. "And now, we wait." Noah murmured.
Gruunnggg!
A deep growl suddenly came from the southeast as the humongous Behemoth charged towards the direction of the Ark. Seeing it, those who do not know went into panic. Those who knew volunteered to explain to them what was happening. Of course, a lot of them, particularly the workers that were involved at building the Ark were indignant. It took them fifty years to build it, yet they would only let a beast destroy it?
Noah smiled when he heard the loud yet deep growl from the beast. That could only mean that their conjecture is true and that the Behemoth really was following God's orders. With that, all was going as to how they expected it to be.
What they didn't expect was…
The Sarjena Mountain Range, Barg City Eastern Walls.
Barg City serves as both the mining city and a defensive fortress that faces the Empire's military camps. The skirmishes that were fought between the two sides usually occur here.
Considering that the Ark was going to be finally finished, the city was vacated by citizens as everyone went towards the site. Barg City was then left with the Templars as defenders.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
"It's urgent!" Inside city fortress, a Templar, with his huge voice, cried out, "A huge demon army is approaching from the east!"
"What?!" The commander, presider of the city, was stunned. "Explain." The commander calmed him down
"There's no time to explain, Commander!" The Templar cried out once more, "They are numbered in millions, billions even!"
The commander's face paled. He hurriedly stood up and went to the highest tower of the fortress.
When he discovered a huge red sea filled with demons, Nephilim, and six soul-clenching existences hovering on top of them, he almost lost his balance.
"Peasants!" With booming voices, the six beings above declared loudly, "Welcome the Great Emperor!"
From the skies, a long, scarlet chariot adorned with gold and images of oppression and slaughter flew above all the demon armies. It was being pulled by a huge serpentine creature filled with the vilest of auras using a long chain that was stabbed deep into the neck of the beast.
Stopping just meters in front of the now broken wall, the chariot's door opened, as a hulking masculine man with a long and messy hair and tied beard came down from it. He was wearing a black armor emblazoned with the image of a monstrous figure, with its eyes that of a reptile's, a gaping mouth filled with sharp teeth and with a snake's tongue sticking out as if mocking anyone who looks at it. On his head was a tall, black crown emanating a ruthless and cold aura across the surroundings'
In his hand was a massive ten-foot greatsword that was rusty because of the blood that stayed on it from all the battles that it had participated in. On the sword's guard was a scarlet ruby. Anyone who dared to even look at it would hear the souls of the people that it brought to the damned.
His eyes, filled with condescension and ridicule, looked at the leader and all of the city's inhabitants and said to them, "Weaklings who dareth oppose the rule of thy Supreme, witness as thy faiths prove useless." With a wave of his hand, the sea of Nephilim and demons rushed towards the Eastern Walls with a bloodthirsty screech.
The commander, with his quick thinking, turned to the templar that reported to him and ordered, "Tell the others to vacate the city and rush to the capital!"
With how the Commander worded his command, the templar immediately knew what he wants to do, "Thou wilt stay here?!" He gasped.
The commander swiftly moved his hands, casting a spell. "I need to, as the commander of the city. I must." He sighed, before pushing the templar away, "Hurry!"
While crying, the templar nodded and shouted from the tower, "Vacate the city for the capital!"
With that command, the thousands of templars within the city rode their horses and galloped their way to the capital.
As they went far, the templar looked behind and saw the demon swarm lunge at the tower.
Boom!
Before they could reach the top, however, a strong beam of light shot up to the sky like a beacon.
The Heavenly State Capital, Amare.
While Noah and the other leaders were waiting for the Behemoth to come, they saw the huge beam of light from the distance. "What is Commander Babel doing?" Ilmar narrowed his eyes.
Elric, now a man with a strong stature and poise, then said to them, "The commander isn't the type to act nonsensically. Maybe something really is happening in the city right now."
"I'll check." Noah said before flying to the east.
As he was flying, he saw the band of knights rushing from the distance. Descending, he asked them, "What is happening? Why have you all abandoned thy posts?"
"Lord Noah…" One of the templars, while crying, replied, "Barg has fallen."
"What?!" Noah was shocked. "How?" He asked. "Countless demons have advanced to the frontlines…"
"…together with the Demon Emperor."
