An exchange of magic attacks began as Magi from opposing sides bombarded the men that were similarly bombarding them. Similar to the Tiren scenario, men from behind Jerusalem's ranks began to chant like choir, discouraging the enemy lines from even fighting back, in fear of God's retaliation and losing His favor.
This was Jerusalem's Art of War, utilizing the angelic way of warfare by praising God's grace to attack their foes. It worked for great and powerful demons, how could a mere mortal sinner resist God's will?
With that, the Ninevite soldiers began to lose courage to even continue fighting. The sheer fear of offending God shakes them to their core. When Nimrod went to the walls and saw that, he immediately got so enraged that he blurted what was in his mind, "Don't retreat! Don't fear! I am your god!"
As soon as those words reached the battlefield, everyone stopped. It was so silent that the only thing you can hear is the sound of the wind blowing so violently. Everyone had one clear thing in their mind: 'The audacity of this bastard.'
Having a collective understanding of what they were all thinking, the two groups that were once enemies nodded at each other and turned towards him, walking towards the city with one goal: Kill the man that declared himself as god.
On the walls, the Magi knew what was going to happen. At the same time, they all turned and descended the walls, leaving a wrathful Nimrod shouting and screaming on top of the walls.
Suddenly, the wind that was blowing towards the east changed direction momentarily. In a swift manner, the man that was having a tantrum was blown forward. With widened eyes, Nimrod fell from the city gates, and plopped face down. Still, the man did not die. When he stood up, he angrily ran towards the soldiers that were eyeing him like a dead man. There, he began rampaging. He sent a rain of punches to everyone he got near to, killing or knocking them out in the process. Seeing that he was losing control, his sanity fleeting from him, the soldiers began to take him seriously, bombarding him with attacks.
He was strong, stronger than a lot of his peers. Still, with the collective effort of the men who despised him, he began to lose. The Magi from different sides also began to restrain him with their magic, although he usually got out of the restraint and continued to attack. Still, with that momentary immobilization, the soldiers raised their spears and swords and stabbed him repeatedly.
A while later, after tens of thousands of stabs and cuts and bruises— with his blood staining a wide section of the ground and bare-naked body— Cainan, the commander of Jerusalem's forces, walked towards him. "Graaghh!" Nimrod roared at him and charged with a raised fist. Before it even reached him, Cainan raised his weapon— a hammer— and slammed Nimrod's head to the ground, burying it. After twitching for a bit, Nimrod's body finally stopped moving, his corpse bent over.
Looking at him, Cainan spat on the ground where Nimrod's head was buried, "You have no right to die gloriously in battle. You have caused much death. Die unlike no other." He said before scoffing, "Your head was once over the clouds, your chin up high and your ego even higher, only to end up with your head down, gazing at the lowest of lows where your soul shall rightfully go. Shame on you."
After drowning Nimrod's corpse in a pond of saliva, the men of Nineveh and Jerusalem went to the City of Shinar and dissolved the Kingdom of Nineveh. The sons of Nimrod, knowing their fate, quickly hid and escaped, never to be seen in the vicinity of Shinar once again. The corpses of the dead were then offered prayers before being burned. After all that, everyone returned to their respective cities.
Then, just a few weeks after that, Asshur went and visited the city and entered the tower. As soon as he got out, he announced that Jerusalem will take over the construction of the tower. This time, because of the spirits and angels retracting their support from humanity, Asshur said to have enlisted the help of other spirits, and he said it would be finished much earlier than under Shinar's lead.
When it was announced as such, everyone seemed more confident, especially since the Glorious City would be the one taking charge of something that is intended for God. Resources once again poured into the land as more and more people went and participated in the cause. Some of the spirits that retreated also came back, like elementals and such, to help them.
In an impressive feat, just like how Asshur said it, the tower's construction did take quicker, too quick in fact. In just a little more than three months, they have already built another floor, which had taken the previous builders a year to accomplish. Everyone soon became curious about this mysterious spirit builders, but Asshur shushed the curious minds, keeping the secret as such.
Still, the other human builders were still asked about some details. Unfortunately, they only said that they were only assigned to finish up the floor's interior every time the spirit builders finished making one, and that Lord Asshur prohibited them from ascending an unfinished floor, saying that doing so would be punishable by death.
When everyone heard about how strict the ruler Asshur was, everyone feared for their lives and could only cover their mouths, lest their curiosity get the better of them. Besides, Lord Asshur is the ruler of the most religious city of the Empire. The decisions that he would make surely aligns with the goodness of God, right?
With that in mind, everyone resumed with their lives, living their best to align with the values of God. That situation went on for twenty years.
In those twenty years, the lands had only been brimming with peace. Harmony was spread throughout the world. Oddly, though, when the representatives of the Heavenly Empire went to the severed land leading to the separated dominion of the westernmost realm to invite the people of Japheth into the Empire once more, they vehemently opposed the idea.
