After a long sleep, I finally gained consciousness. The first thing that greeted me was my status. After the fight with monsters yesterday, just like what I expected, I leveled up.

I'm recharged! After resting, your status return to its optimal state. And My [Sleep] Skill is now level two!

I woke up alone in the bed. I wonder where Priscilla has gone to. It's morning already so I figured she must be out of the house tending to her garden.

I walked out of the room and checked everywhere inside the house to be sure. Then I went outside and chased the dragonflies, but I still could not find my servant. I chased more dragonflies then ate them. Then the small green lizards. As a cat, everything that I kill is basically food. The disgust that I had when I was a human is now gone, replaced by an instinct to hunt and eat.

Chase. Eat. Repeat. I saw one big lizard climbing a tree and vanished upon reaching the middle. A chameleon with camouflage ability, huh? Back on earth, chameleons take a long time to blend on their surroundings. But here, it only takes a second or two.

I climbed the tree using my claws which popped out more when I had the urge to hunt the lizard. I enhanced my cat eyes and nose to find my prey. It only took me a minute after I found it on the lowest branch of the tree. The chameleon may the skill to blend in its surrounding, but it cannot hide its smell.

I snuck my way up. The chameleon doesn't seem to know that I've already found out his position. When I got close, I put my weight on my hind legs and jumped to where the chameleon is. I grabbed it with my mouth and held it in position using my front paws, then positioned myself ready for the fall. I landed safely to the ground. I bit the struggling foe and tasted its blood.

I heard a notification and my status showed up in front of me.

Evolution? Is this the effect of the [Food Cycle] skill? I ate many lizards plus this chameleon plus the ones I chased so it's reasonable. I can acquire many insect skills, huh? What's that [Multiple Eyesight]? Is that like growing many eyes? That's creepy and gross.

I lied down, facing the window. Right after I pressed the YES button, I saw Priscilla who has been missing, outside.

With an unfunny prank of the universe, my rash decision that was based only on my selfish desire led to an event that I did not want to happen.

Suddenly, a man in black appeared in front of Priscilla. The man was cloaked so it was impossible to see his face, but one can tell he's a man by looking at his body build. He stabbed her stomach. Priscilla bent down with a shock on her face. Then, she fell down when the man took out the knife.

The man disappeared as quickly as he arrived. She left Priscilla bleeding on the ground, unconscious.

I wanted to move but my body would not.

'System, I demand you to cancel the evolution right at this moment!'

« Negative. Evolution is in process. »

WHAT?? CANCEL!

« Negative. Proceeding with the evolution. »

Why does it have to be now?

My consciousness faded.
