"Good morning, host!"
When Thomas woke up, it was already morning. Sun was illuminating his face while he looked at his new stats.
'Name: Thomas
Race: Human
Title: User of "Dumb luck system."
Strength: 7 (avg.5)
Speed: 5 (avg.5)
Inteligence: 2 (avg.5)
Luck: 20 (avg.5)
Talent: 1 (avg.5)'
"So if I now start cultivating I will need three years to become a cultivator? How long would I need if I had my talent from before?"
"You would need around 45min. Don't worry. These short term benefits are not comparable with how huge they will be with dumb luck system by your side."
Disspirited, Thomas decided to go and search for food. This time, he decided to avoid a snake who was behaving like a young master. Spiritual grass was of no use for him anyway.
He encountered something similar to bananas, but they were too high, making it impossible to get them. He wasn't so hungry as yesterday, so he wasn't complaining too much. After all, finding food in the jungle can't be easy.
Thomas was walking silently and looking for food when he suddenly heard some subtle sounds directly behind him. He turned around.
He caught eye contact with a gorilla around 2,5m tall. Just as he was about to turn around and flee, he heard Luke translating what this sound from before meant.
"Son! You were hiding here. Mother knows that you are hairless, but you can't run away from this fight! Don't worry, even if you lose, you are still a tribe's leader son."
"Son? What are you wearing? Even if you don't feel good as a hairless ape, you shouldn't hide it. Now you look like a human!"
Before Thomas could learn how to communicate with this 'mother' of his, she already tore his clothes apart, leaving him naked in a second.
'System, what's her cultivation stage?'
Usually, Thomas doesn't mind talking with Luke openly, but before this creature, he decided to pass this message without speaking.
'This gorilla is at Qi Gathering stage 3rd step peak phase. You have two options now, host please choose:
Reveal your identity to this poor mother searching for her child and try to convince her to spare your life - chances for survival 0.18%
Behave like her child and follow her, wait for a good opportunity and then flee.
Which one would host like to choose?'
'You have the nerve to ask me? But how can I communicate with her?'
'You can buy a skill that will make it possible.'
'But I don't have any LCP.'
'In a situation like this, I can loan you one LCP, and you will need to give back two before another transaction.'
'I guess I don't have a choice! Now hurry and give me this skill already.'
'Skill: Gorilla speech acquired.'
Thomas felt like knowledge about gorilla's was pouring inside his brain, in a few second time, he couldn't control his body but felt heavenly, he couldn't even describe how good he felt at this moment.
He was brought to reality by a blow of cold wind.
Seeing him shivering like this, gorilla mother couldn't bear it. She embraced him while stroking his head with her hand and started speaking quietly.
"Don't worry my child! I won't let this bastard hurt you, as long as you lay down at the beginning of your fight and surrender they won't dare to beat you."
"Alright, mother."
"If they will try to find trouble with you after this match, your father and I will teach them that no one is allowed to touch you."
While giving her speech, mother gorilla heard how her son's stomach rumbled.
"Oh my, how could I forget that you haven't eaten and drunk anything yet. Let's go back. You have just enough time to eat something, and then you can go surrender."
When Thomas saw where they were going, he was astonished. They had tree houses everywhere! It was like a small village's in medieval age's but on trees.
In under the middle of the house was a tree supporting it and on every corner was a thick wooden leg, so these houses don't fall apart because of gorilla's weight.
When they reached the biggest house supported by three trees, mother gorilla started to climb to the top.
Seeing it, Thomas froze.
'Luke, is there a climbing skill? Can I buy it?'
'I can give you only one loan.'
'I see, so that's how I will get exposed?'
Just as Thomas was getting ready to die, accepting the fact that he transmigrated, he felt that something was pulling him up.
"I told you to stop worrying about this fight. You are shaking so hard that you can't even climb properly. Now, come here, I will help you."
"Thanks, Mom."
Thomas said it in a sincere tone. He was grateful that this gorilla didn't found out but rather thought that it's because her son was too scared.
The house they were currently in was built on the highest trees in this village and had a few windows. They were, of course, just holes without glass, but through them, Thomas could see a vivid image before him.
Everyone here was gathering slowly beside a place without grass while showing an excited expression. These gorillas seemed no different than humans here.
"I told you to forget about this fight! Now come here and eat!"
Thomas turned around, sat down, and looked at eight bananas and a bowl of water he had to it now.
"I can't give you more now, or you will be late."
It took Thomas twenty minutes to eat the whole thing. He didn't know that he was capable of doing so, but under the stern gaze of this gorilla mother, he was too scared to be exposed.
After this meal, he was going to visit the village leader. He entered the largest room in the house. There was nothing inside, only one gorilla sitting in the lotus position.
'Luke, how strong is he?'
'I can't tell, which means that he is at least at Qi Gathering stage sixth step.'
"So, today is the day that our family will lose to someone, right son?"
Gorilla father said in an angry and disappointed voice.
Hearing no reply after a few seconds, he got even angrier, stood up and approached Thomas quickly.
"What? You have nothing to say? Not even 'sorry father' or 'it's my fault'? I don't know how such an untalented child appeared in this family! Me, a genius who became a village chief and your mother, another genius, the third person in terms of strength in a village created someone who can't even achieve Qi Gathering stage step one lower phase at the age of eight!"
Hearing how angry this gorilla was, Thomas was scared that he would accidentally kill him in a moment of anger.
'Why does he thinks that his son is talentless just because he didn't become cultivator yet?'
'Animals can easier achieve lower cultivation stages but have a hard time later. Humans can rule this world thanks to the fact that they have more high-level cultivators which are worth more than a bunch of low-level ones.'
Hearing this reply, Thomas finally understood why this father was so disappointed.
"Look at you! You are getting skinnier and skinnier."
"Sorry, Father."
"You scolded him long enough, now he needs to get on stage, or he will be late."
Hearing his wife's voice urging him to stop, this gorilla sighed while letting Thomas go.
'Gorilla Mom, you saved me again!'
"Let's go now, son. Remember, just lay down and surrender."
Meanwhile, two kilometres away from here, on a big rock was sitting a hairless gorilla in a lotus position, cultivating. It suddenly opened its eyes.
"I finally achieved it! Now, my father won't treat me like a disgrace! I still have time to get back on time."
