As the sun set beneath the trees, their carriage pulled up to the first stop along the way - another imperial manor similar to the one they'd stayed in to wait out the thunderstorm on the way to get the Moonflower.
It was impressive, to be certain. More impressive than the lord's manor - or was he a duke? Some of that trip was still a haze to her - they'd stayed in on that same trip.
But this one had less of a lovely outdoor garden to explore than the other imperial manor, which was a shame, because the weather would have actually allowed her to explore it this time. Though they were still on a somewhat tight schedule, she supposed.
The driver came around to open the door and let the party out to stretch their legs, including the coachman, who needed a break himself.
She took a deep breath of the night air.
