An Amusing Trip

"I know him," Kal said calmly to her friends. Then, looking towards the captain, she spoke to only him: "Was it necessary to make a scene?"

"It was necessary to see you. You and your friends played the little game of hide-and-seek." He replied calmly and with a half smile. Kalina's blood boiled just before she heard an indignant snort from Dante. Stef, for her part, giggled disdainfully as she adopted a haughty pose.

The Kru didn't even look at the two mercenaries. His body moved two centimeters closer to Kalina, and she felt a surge of heat.

¡Good heavens! At this point, denying she was attracted to him was meaningless. Yes, attracted to him in a strange and perhaps excessive way. 

"I want to talk, in private. Ask them to walk away willingly. Please." He had said please with some difficulty. The truth was, he didn't seem to be used to saying the damn word.

Strange… Thinking like that, Kalina pushed him unceremoniously with her palms so the captain stood up straight. In this way, he moved away from her a little. Ahh… his muscles felt like steel.

"Guys, I'll see you at the Taro booth." That was the only thing Kal said.

Instantly, Dante turned around and began to leave. Stef, of course, had to say something: "Good job, girl. I'm so proud."

Kalina rolled her eyes. "It's not what you think, Stef."

Stef giggled but turned and was gone in three seconds.

The captain closed the space between them the second the two mercenaries left. Which meant his body was dangerously close again. Kalina scowled at him. Not that it bothered her. Not at all. She was rather, being tempted. ¡Heavens! She had to control herself.

"What's going on?" She asked.

For his part, Valian didn't respond right away cause he was busy giving her a look from hell. 

It was getting hot all of a sudden. Scorching hot. Kalina opened her mouth to take a deep breath because she was burning. And feeling angry with herself, she returned the same reinforced look.

"We're in this together, little wolf. I already said that I am not your enemy. I swear. I am as interested as you are in our princess arriving safely to Kru."

"Could you stop calling me that?"

"Should I call you Kalina then?" Why had her name sounded like it was a thing he was about to eat? Kalina barely suppressed a shudder. "Kalina." He said her name once again. Just like if he was licking his lips.

"Valian." Using a warning tone, she repaid him in kind.

However, as soon as she said his name, something dangerous flashed in the captain's eyes. And, good Gods! he was looking at her like a hungry beast.

Uh-Oh…

"So, it seems you had something important to say." She made a pathetic attempt to change the direction things were taking.

In response, the captain took a deep breath. And by all heavens! His scent was intoxicating her. What did the damn kru have? Well, other than being the most tempting man in the fucking universe. ¡Sod it! Kalina stomped her right boot in an attempt to vent her exasperation.

"During your meeting with the princess, ¿did you notice something out of place? Look, I just wanted to make sure she can control herself."

¿Huh? Why was everyone worried about the princess? What the hell was happening? Damn… And by all heavens, she had to put space between them immediately. She couldn't stand the burning in her damn cheeks anymore.

"Why does everyone seem to be worried about the princess?" And for me as well? Kal wanted to add, but she stopped herself.

"I guess you really don't know a thing."

¡Damn! ¡Damn!

"Her Majesty was composed. Now explain yourself." After her statement, Kalina was about to snort. Another certain thing was that her patience was wearing thin.

"Our princess is a dangerous creature. Especially for someone like you." That was all the kru said.

Kalina looked without reservation into those eyes that seemed to burn her. For all the power! Luckily, his conversation was beginning to distract her from everything else.

¿Someone like her? ¿What did he mean? Did he perhaps know her secret?

"If she didn't get out of control while being with you alone, that's a good start. I guess." The kru continued: "This is gonna be an amusing trip."
