Chapter 7

[Toneri's POV]

"Toneri-san..."

A stiff but low voice suddenly appeared and interrupted my internal monologue. I turned around to see a person with black hair, height around 175cm, and blue eyes. It was Hisoka. He was wearing a simple black hoodie.

Compared to the other people in this place, I guess he's the only one that looks... At home? I dunno. As for me? I'm wearing a black trench coat with a black undershirt to blend the look. I always need that drip when I go out

"What is it, Hisoka-san?" (Toneri)

"Well-..." (Hisoka)

"Hey~! What are you two doing here?" (Kiyoko)

Before Hisoka could finish what he was saying, Kiyoko dashed at us while waving her hand.

Hisoka turned around and looked at Kiyoko with a deathly glare. Kiyoko, who saw his glare, stiffened and backed down. Sheesh, is this the relationship between this two?

"U-Uh, yeah... Sorry, bye!" (Kiyoko)

She then ran and headed towards one of the muscular guy on the Japanese team.

I looked back at Hisoka and asked.

"What were you saying?" (Toneri)

"..." (Hisoka)

"Nevermind. See you later." (Hisoka)

He then pulled out his phone and earphones from his pockets and dozed off somewhere

'The hell?'

Well anyway, besides that, I looked at the two people fighting at the bottom. I gave to say, these two were REALLY enthusiastic about fighting each other.

I looked around and saw Cha Hae-in on the corner not holding her handkerchief anymore.

Of course, seeing this chance I walked towards her silently. After reaching her without making any presence, I tapped her shoulder

After that, she jumped back with a shocked expression

I waved my hand with a smile

"Nice to meet you! I know it's too late to say this, but my name is Ōtsutsuki Toneri. Since we're working on the Jeju Island raid, I figured to befriend the other people attending." (Toneri)

Cha Hae-in was about to grab her handkerchief when she suddenly stopped. She looked at me intently with a confused expression

'?'

"Is there something wrong...?" (Toneri)

She snapped out of her daze and shook her head sideways

"No... Sorry, my name is Cha Hae-in. A pleasure to work with you, Hunter Toneri." (Hae-in)

Hearing her answer, I smiled and made a slight bow. After that bow, I tried to walk off and watch more of the fight when Hae-in grabbed my shoulder

"Excuse me... Hunter Toneri? Can you stay for a while? I need to check something." (Hae-in)

'Hm? What does she want?'

I didn't ask any questions and just did what she asked. Nothing wrong with that, right?

She then went extremely close to me and started casually sniffing my shoulder area as if it's nothing.

'AYO WHAT THE FUcK.'

I was dumbfounded at her actions.

Then, the realization hits me like my mother did when I was a child.

'Oh crap, I remember she also did this to Jin-Woo when they first met. But at that time, she only sniffed his chest.'

"As I thought... You're the same as him..." (Hae-in)

She mumbled under her breath. If it wasn't for my heightened senses, I wouldn't have been able to hear what she said.

But wait, what did she mean by 'I'm the same as him'? I know she meant Jin-Woo, but how would I be similar to him? Could it be because of my smell? Everyone else smells awful to her because she's sensitive to mana, but because Jin-Woo is a 'Player', his mana being given by the shadow monarch, his mana doesn't smell awful to her. Why? Because people get their mana from the gates that were brought to this world. But since Jin-Woo is a vessel of the Shadow Monarch, the mana he gets is different.

(A/N: Correct me if I'm wrong about this. This is just my own theory.)

As for my mana? I don't even know if I have one. I have chakra, not mana. Could it be that she could also smell chakra? If yes, then that's sick as hell. Moreover, what does chakra smell like?

Oh well.

I snapped out of my monologue and returned to reality

"Uhh... Miss Hae-in? What seems to be the problem?" (Toneri)

Hae-In lifted her head and looked at me with a serious face

"Sorry for that. You can go now, sorry for wasting your time." (Hae-in)

I then walked away scratching my head pretending I didn't know what was going on, going back to watch the fight.

Not knowing that in a corner, someone was watching Hae-in smelling me and looked at her disdainfully before using their phone again.

[Cha Hae-In's POV]

After entering the training gym, I just sat on one of the benches and watched the fight between the two S-Rank Hunters, Baek YoonHo and Ma Dongwook. If I have to best honest, they were very enthusiastic about their match. Joking at each other occasionally.

I was watching and not paying attention to my surroundings when suddenly I felt a touch on my shoulders. I jumped up and looked behind me to see a person with white hair and pale skin. I know him very well as he was put on the news as Korea's 11th S-Rank Hunter that came shortly after Jin-Woo. It was the new hunter, Otsutsuki Toneri.

He then greeted me and introduced himself. During his greeting, I couldn't help but admire his ice-blue eyes with what seemed like beautiful patterns around them. But of course, I must be seeing things as eyes don't have patterns around the sclera.

But that is not the only strange thing I noticed. Right now, I don't have my handkerchief on, and for some reason, I don't smell anything awful coming from Hunter Toneri...

All the other hunters I met reek the same awful mana stench. But there were two exceptions— one was Sung Jin-Woo and the other is... Ōtsutsuki Toneri.

What could be their secret? Why do they smell different from the others?

Unable to satiate my curiosity, I requested him to stay. He did as I said and started sniffing him. Not caring for my image.

As I smelled him closely, I picked up the scent of... Mint? Odd... His scent is different from Jin-Woo's... Does that mean they're different but at the same time not different?

I pulled myself back and told him that everything was okay. He turned around and walked while scratching his head dumbfounded.

I did the same and went back in my seat, but for some reason, I felt like someone was staring at me with maliciousness. I looked around and saw that on the corner, someone who has earphones on was looking at me

"Huh?"

[Ishida's POV]

Geez~ Natsumi is too protective of her prey. Well, I'm not gonna help him, after all, it was his fault for during her in with that appearance of his!

And since Natsumi had been my friend since I joined the Draw Swords Guild. I'll help her with all I have on pursuing Toneri's attention! Moreover, one of the side perks if they get hooked together, is that there will be a great chance Toneri will transfer to the Draw Swords Guild, making the number of S-Ranks in it 12!

If that happens, our guild's influence will skyrocket once again!

But... There is that one problem...

Natsumi hasn't been in an intimate relationship since she was born... And... Because of the circumstances she had when she was a kid... It led to her to have some... strange quirkiness?

There was that one time when we were just strolling around in public when suddenly one of my fans approached me and started taking pictures all of a sudden. At first, it was fine but then he started following me and Natsumi back to our houses.

And what did Natsumi do? She said that she 'took care' of the fan and said that he won't bother us anymore. The next thing I know, there was a guy online cursing how an S-Ranker beat him to a pulp.

That day made me led to having guessed that Natsumi has a bit of overprotectiveness...

And so, I fear what might happen to Hunter Toneri when they get in a relationship...

Oh well, I guess I should keep an eye on those two

After seeing Toneri getting sniffed by Hunter Cha Hae-in I can't help but make a :O expression.

I quickly turned to see Natsumi at the corner looking at them with a strange glare

Oh no...

When Toneri left Hunter Cha, I quickly ran towards Natsumi

She saw me running to her and took off her earphones

"What?" (Natsumi)

"Uhh... Oh yeah! Do you want to eat something? There's a restaurant outside the training gym, we can eat there! I'm hungry, you hungry? Yeah let's eat." (Ishida)

After that, I picked up Natsumi's arm and dragged her out without getting her answer.

I've seen a lot of Natsumi's facial expressions, and that glare she gave off was one of the most dangerous ones. I need to get her out of here

We then tan towards the exit and looked for the nonexistent restaurant I mentioned because of the sour of the moment, which thankfully exists.

[Toneri's POV]

I feel weird today.

I felt like someone kept glaring at me ever since I talked with Hae-in, but then the feeling went away at the next moment.

Oh well. It is what it is.

I then looked at the two people that were still fighting. They were exhausted and sweating but that's not stopping them from shouting at each other motivating the other party. At this time, Yoon-Ho already had his shirt off him a while ago and his hair turn white

*BAM!*

Oh~ Yoon-Ho just got slumped to the ground.

"INSTRUCTOR BAEK! A YOUNG PERSON LIKE YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY USE HIS STRENGTH!" Shouted the middle-aged looking guy

"I'm not an instructor, instructor." Yoon-Ho said while smirking

Then, they started fighting again but this time, with more force

'These guys don't know how to quit... Heh...'

Then, the doors from the corridor we walked in opened, and a person wearing a long dark trenchcoat with a white shirt underneath it appeared alongside Chairman Go

'That is...'

The past two chapters were just fillers. In the next chapters, the Jeju Island Raid will begin :)
